ITS THAT TIME AGAIN
The next day at school, Adrien hugged me, and Chloe stomped off with Sabrina. She came back with a small book. She pushed it into his chest, and demanded he read it.
"Adrien! I know you're into poetry and whatever, so I found a poem!"

"Uhhhh... thanks Chloe?"

"Well aren't you going to read it?"

"Oh! Sure."

"Out loud." She said through gritted teeth, obviously annoyed.

He read it, it was clearly about a blonde beauty. Who could've known.

"Oh, Adrien! I had no idea you felt that way about me!" Chloe beamed.

"What? No! I-"

A flock of students crowded them, along with bright flashes of phone cameras. I left the cafeteria quickly.

I didn't see Adrien without Chloe on his arm for the rest of the day, so I didn't try to talk to him. I skated home as fast as I could, almost being run over by a car because I was lost in my thoughts.

I got a phone call from Adrien when I was eating dinner, and ignored it. I didn't think I was ready to talk to him yet. It was so obvious she was going to trick him. Again. For the billionth time. How could he be so blind?

A tap on my glass sliding door in my bedroom. I found myself staring at a sad looking Chat Noir. He wasn't smiling, he wasn't entering.

I paused, locking eyes with him.

"Please." I saw him mouth.

I slid open the door, and he pulled me into a hug. He was quiet, and I waited for him to talk first. He stroked my hair softly, playing with my braid.

"(Y/n)..." His voice cracked, tears forming in his eyes. I kissed him lightly, to show that I wasn't completely heartless. I still cared.

"I thought you were mad..."

"No. Not anymore."

"But you were, then."

"Yeah, I was."

He hugged me again.
"I'm sorry, you know Chloe-"

I pushed him away suddenly.
"Yes I do know Chloe. And you know her too. And what she's like, and how far she would go to ruin me. Us, I mean. Adrien, I'm not mad. But I am disappointed about how dumb you were to not see that coming. Why are you so blind sometimes?"

He sniffled, tears falling freely now.
"I know, I just..."

I couldn't take it anymore. He was so weak, crying like that. Fragile glass.

I wiped away his tears with my thumb, sitting him on my bed. He sniffed uncontrollably, trying to calm down and stop crying.

"Do you hate me?"
Tears welled up again in his eyes.

"No."

"Why?" He wiped his nose on his sleeve, and he said it like he wanted me to say I hated him.

"Because I like you a lot, ya dumb!"
I laughed.

He snorted, smiling. I put a hand on his face, pulling him in for another kiss. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pressing his warm cheek against my hand. He smiled bigger this time, and I couldn't stand how adorable he looked. We kissed, and he pulled away to rest his head on the crook of my neck. He kissed my neck, and I smiled. He fell asleep like that, and detransformed. I fell asleep holding him, kissing his forehead.
