Silence

"Before you say anything I just want to say I know how you feel and I definitely don't want to impose on your life. I'm just doing this for my mom,you see she-" I was caught off by the impact of the hug he had jumped in to give me. I felt an overwhelming emotion I couldn't exactly put my finger on. I hugged him back and we sort of sat like that me inhaling his scent and the hold of a father. We were interrupted by the sound of voices entering the house we stood up and I followed him to the doorway. We stopped when we were right in front of the people who had entered the house. A gorgeous plump red head woman entered with a bag of groceries she looked a little younger than my dad but thankfully not my age. When she caught sight of me she let out a shriek and dropped her groceries. I quickly dropped to the floor to help her pick up her the things I then stood up and gave her the bag. "K-K-Kasey?" She stammered. "I-I mean Ms. S-S-Stone." I laughed it was so easy to forget you were a celebrity when immersed in your private life. "Oh please I'd just about die if my stepmother were to address with such formality." Her jaw dropped and for a second I was worried about her grocery bag dropping again but just in time a girl with distinctive green eyes walked in. She hadn't noticed the uninvited guest yet and she was talking to her mom while looking outside. "Mom there's a gorgeous black Beemer outside and I'm pretty sure its not my birthday." She turned and almost bumped right into me and she too let out a shriek but had a firm grip on her grocery bag. "Mom what's going on?" She questioned. I held out my hand. "Hi I'm Kasey." Her confusion seemed to grow and she said, "Hey..um dad doesn't mom have to be dead before you bring in the young hot mistress or does she start out as the nanny because no offence but she doesn't look like nanny material." They both laughed, then everything got serious and they decided to usher everyone into the living room after putting the groceries away during an awkward silence. Everyone included the little girl whose name was Liliana and she was turning 6. I was introduced to Dianne and her mom Sally and my dad, Hank. They all had the surname. Then it was my turn to talk which went on a long and everyone was kind enough to just listen intently and respectfully. I explained to them how my mom died of throat cancer to get the hardest part out the way which made Dianne cry cause she'd never meet her biological mother ,but once that  was over I told them about how I went to see the lawyer and the letter which I gave to Dianne immediately. I continued to tell them how she never blamed my father for anything and that she was just hurt but burying herself in her family and their work as well as her own helped her and she was happy most of her life. When I asked Hank why me and my sister were split he explained that they had Dianne when they were 18 and after a second child their fights so they split when I was six months and decided that if any of them ever died we would send our child to each other so they wouldn't be alone and might have their sister to lean on. My mom's reasons and requests suddenly made sense, but it was a lot of information to take in. He explained that ten years later when he was thirty he married a gorgeous twenty seven year old. His words not mine not that I think she's  ugly. They had a child after two years and had been married for six years since Lily. I smiled glad that he had found love though I'm not sure how liliana's existence made me feel. I found out that he is a teacher at the local high School and she is the Secretary by the one medical hospital. They weren't as poor as my mom said but they sure as he'll weren't as rich as her and seeing as she hadn't spoken to him for roughly twenty years I'm pretty sure some things may be wrong. We got along and I got a tour and a room to stay in the chauffeur brought my bags in apparently while we spoke he got himself some pizza and we decided to order the same on me. I didn't tell them about Dianne's new money because I still had some evaluations to do in their case. I stayed up almost all night telling Annie that was my nickname for her, all about our mom it felt good to share with family. She told me so much about her and I told her things I'd never told anyone it felt great to confide. She told me about her boyfriend Jared and that they'd been dating for a year now after six hours we decided we had the whole year to catch up. We said goodnight and I relaxed and fell asleep at peace with my decision to come her. Like my mom always said you can make a mistake on a dress but that's he most beautiful part of it because perfection isn't always desirable. Of course she meant it in life using her career to create analogies like this one.
After making sure to tell my chauffeur he was off with pay for the year and having a simple Audi TT delivered to their house I went to sleep early the next day. Day 2 and this year may be more blissful than I thought. Tomorrow I'm going out on the town. The beginning is the best part.
