Kiefer
I woke up early, ate my breakfast and went directly to school, where the team will meet. I was the first one to arrive.
After few minutes Von arrived. He greeted me as soon as he saw me.
“Paps! Ba’t ganyan ang mukha mo? Nerbyos ka paps sa game? You looked tensed.” Von questioned.
“Ah.. Bad vibes lang yung traffic.”Ireasoned.
“Traffic?! Anung oras ka nanggaling sa bahay mo? 1 am? Ang aga mo kaya. Wala pa traffic ngayon!” Von accused.
“Ah basta!” Kiefer grumpily said. Then he smiled creepily at me. “What? That smile scares me.” I said to him.
“Sam told me something,” still smiling at me. I just shook my head and started walking. “What did they do to you?” he asked.
“What are you talking about?” I tried to look confused.
“Don’t play dumb at me Ravena. You know what I mean. I heard you met the brothers.” Von teasingly said.
I have no choice but to tell him. Alam niya na pala eh. The thought that Sam’s brothers watching our game, kind of, makes me nervous.
I juts heaved out a sigh. “Paps, para akong lalamunin ng buhay. It feels like a committed a crime and the NBI agents were interrogating me. They’re like X-ray machines that can see through my soul. They scared the hell out of me Paps.” I said.
Von then chuckled upon hearing what I said. “Good thing Sam saved me from further interrogation. Pero, eto naman ako parang ewan. Sinabi ko pa talaga na ireschedule naming yung pag-uusap naming na inenterrupt ni Sam” I continued my rants. Then Von laughed hysterically.
“Hoy Von!” I shouted.
Von faced me, teary-eyed because of laughing. “If you only saw your face. Haha, you never looked so tensed before even in our championship game last season.”
“Alam mo kung pagtatawanan mo lang ako, foget it.” I started to walk away from Von.
He followed me still chuckling; put his arms on my shoulders. “Sige Paps, cause you’re my bestfriend and we’re both early. I’m giving you Background lessons.” I looked at him with confusion. “It’s for your own good.”
We sat on the bench near the parking area. Von took out his phone and showed me a photo of Simmy and Sam.
“Oh si Sam and Simmy yan,” I dumbly said.
“I know dumbo. Look at this photo. Aside from the two beautiful ladies, what looks familiar to you?”
I tried to look for something that’s familiar to me in the photo. Then I noticed that Sam and Simmy are both wearing identical shirts with the logo of one of our sponsors, The VGS foundation Inc..
“They’re wearing VGC shirts?” I asked Von.
“Uh-ha, and what does VGC means?” Now that von asked, I realized that I actually don’t know what it means. All I know is that it has been a sponsor of Ateneo for years already. And they chose Ateneo to sponsor because the owner’s daughter, Martina according to Juami, was an alumnus of the Ateneo HS .
“Well?” Von interrupted my train of thoughts
“ I actually don’t know Paps” I said to him. He shook his head in disbelief.
“Anubayan Paps! Sponsor mo di mo kilala!” Von said. “ VGC means Villaraza Group of Companies.”
Upon hearing what Von said, I looked at him and said, “Kanila Sam?” *Von facepalm*. Von gave me an are-you-seriously-asking-me-that look.
“But I heard Juami said that the only daughter of the owner of VGC name was Martina?” *Von facepalm again* Now I’m so confused.
“And Sam’s full name is?” I tried to think. I remembered that Sam’s name was very long… MYSB! I looked at Von with my I-figured-it-out look. “Martina Ynes Samantha Beatrice!” My face broke into a huge smile. I’m so proud of myself I figured it out.
“Sam’s family is the owner the company that sponsors us.” I said “But what’s the connect?” I asked. *Von facepalm AGAIN. What? I’m confused.
Von threw his hands up as if surrendering. He shook his head in disbelief. Nakakaloko tong si Von ah!
He moved closer to me and put his arms on my shoulders. “You know Paps,” he started.
“I don’t know Paps’” I said. He shrugged me off and said, “ The villaraza’s are well-known businessmen. They’re very influential family from business to sports to politics not only here in the country,”he continued.
“The famous patriarch of the Villaraza clan, Don Ynigo Villaraza, Sam’s grandfather, was the only son of the twin brother of the last Villaraza woman before Sam.” He said as a matter of fact.
“Von ang gulo! Ba’t mo ba sinasabi yang mga yan?” Von just shook his head and continued.
“Kasi Paps, may sumpa yang mga Villaraza.”
“Anu? What are you talking about?” I said
“Haha sumpa kasi yung tawag naming ni Sam dun. You see Sam is the one and only Villaraza woman after the twin sister of her great-grandfather died. SAbi nga namin ni Sam kaya siguro iisa na lang ang babaeng may dugong Villaraza dahil namatay yung great-grandmother niya. Si Sam lang talaga ang babaeng may dugong Villaraza. Yung iba eh nakapangasawa lang ng Villaraza kaya may apelyidong ganun. Sam only has brothers. Her lolo Ynigo is the only child. Her father’s siblings are all men. Kahit pamangkin puro nephew walang niece yang si Sam. Lalaki lahat.”
“Eh panu naman yung sa mother side niya?”I asked.
“Uhmm here’s the thing. Sam’s mom was an orphan; grew up with the nuns in the orphanage. Nobody knows her background even the nuns. And paps! Don’t mention Sam’s mom to her. It upsets her. Just wait for her to open up. .
“Okaaaayy” I Said.
“So the moral of the story is that Sam is the princess. Nobody touches the princess unless you go through the whole infantry.” Von said knowingly.
“Eto naman Paps tinatakot mo ako eh Lalo ata akong kinakabahan. Manunuod yung mga Kuya eh.”
“Don’t worry. They’re not as bad as what I think you’re thinking about them right now. Pero pag nakapasa ka na sa mga gwardya ni Sam, mababit naman sila.”
I just heaved out a heavy sigh.
“The way you look at Sam is different. I know you. I’m not scaring you. I’m just giving you a heads up para hindi ka nganga paps!”
Von knows me too well. I just can’;t hide anything from this dude. But he’s right. Sam is special. But that’s all I know as of now.
“I’ll take this slow Paps. Okay? Huwag mo akong pangunahan. Hindi lang si Sam ang may kumplekadong buhay,” I pointed to the bunch of girls running towards us.
I heard von Chuckle “Oo na! Ikw na sikat!” Then Von and I got swarmed by our fangirls.

Short update po muna. I'm kind of busy po sa school. I hope you like this update.
I want to build up things pa muna for Sam and Kiefer. Next chapter, I'll make it more fun and kilig na. You'll meet Sam's Lasallian friends na rin.
