I am definitely a dead meat. When I entered the house, I saw Kuya Marco and Kuya Miguel looking at me sharply. I must have made them worry. I went to them and gave them a hug and a kiss on the cheeks.
"Let me explain first." I held my right hand up.
They just nodded and waited for my answer. I was about to open my mouth when I heard a car pull up. We all turned towards the door. Who could that be?
When the door opened, the worried faces of Kiefer and Von were the ones we saw. Von heaved out a sigh and came to me and gave me a hug. "Thank God you're okay. You got us worried." Then let go of me.
Then I turned to Kiefer. He's just staring at me blankly. He looked really exhausted and worried. I gave him an apologizng look. I wanted to go to him but I can't fathom the look on his face. I opted to look at my brothers and explain myself.
"Okay. My phone got snatched earlier." My first line definitely shocked them. My Kuyas faces were checking me from head to toe trying to look for some missing parts. "Okay I'm fine. Nothing happened to me." Everybody sighed in relief.
"Go on," Kuya Marco said.
"My phone got snatched. I can't call Manong Pipoy. So I decided na magtaxi na lang. But unfortunately, super traffic. Halos hindi na gumagalaw. So bumaba ako ng taxi. I walked to somewhere na hindi traffic. Then I waited for another taxi. Dun ako medyo natagalan. Halos walang dumadaan na vacant na taxi. Ilang oras ako nag-antay dun. Luckily, there was like a mini-snack house na 24 hours dun. And the owner was nice. She let me in the snack house and let her son fetch a cab for me. Then I'm here na" I explained myself.
"We were so worried Sweetie. We called Ninong Willy. His men are out looking for you." Kuya Marco said.
"WHAT?! Are you crazy? You don't have to do that. Kuya naman. What do I have to do to prove to you I'm not a weakling." I forceably said. OA naman kung maka-react ang mag Kuya ko. Talagang binulabog ang NBI mahanap lang ako. Kaya ko naman ang saili ko ah.
"The NBI is very willing to look for you Sweetie." Kuya Miguel joked. I rolled my eyes in exasperation. Protective brothers. Then they both came to me. They gave me a super bear hug.
"We'll buy you a new phone and an extra. Just in case you lost the other one." Kuya Marco said. I came home late and I got a new phone. Nice.
"Maybe you should call Ninong Willy and tell him I'm already here. Para naman makapagpahinga na yung mga tao niya. Nakakahiya." I said to Kuya Miguel.
"Hanep Sammie. NBI naghahanap sayo." Von joked. I just rolled my eyes to him. Then I noticed Kiefer. He's been very quiet kanina pa. He's just looking at me the whole time.
"Nag-aalala lang yan." Von whispered. I just smiled at Von
"Boys, thanks for helping us find Sam." Kuya Marco to Von and Kiefer. "You could stay here muna. Umaga na. Baka may mangyari pa sa inyo sa daan. And you both look tired baka hindi na rin kayo makapag-drive."
Kiefer and Von just nodded. Mukhang napagod talaga sila. "Thanks Von, Kief." I looked at them. Von smiled at me but Kiefer just stared at me.
"Oh sige, I'll tell the maids to prepare the guest room for you boys. Sam you get some rest na din" Kuya Marco.
We all nodded to Kuya Marco. My Kuyas then went off. Von excused himself and went to the bathroom. Kiefer and I were left in the living room. I wanted to talk to him.
"Uhm Sam, I'll be in the veranda," he was definitely avoiding me. I just looked at him walk away.
I lazily walked to the kitchen. Myla, my Yaya Linda's daughter, was cleaning the utensils. I sat on the stool facing Myla.
