The first two periods went by quickly, both classes contained long lectures that most of the class ended up falling asleep during. I happened to find them fascinating and tried to take notes at any chance I had.
Anyway, it was third period which meant Astronomy... with Sebastian. Cassie texted me his schedule during first block. How she got it is a mystery, but she has her ways. He was not only in my Astronomy class, but also in my don't know why he transferred in on the second day of school, but it doesn't really matter. All that matters is why he's here when he should be half way across the world right now in Italy. With a deep breath I entered the room.
When I walked in I was met with the eyes of many, and among them was Sebastian's familiar brown eyes. The moment after we made eye contact I looked away, avoiding his not so subtle stare. Quickly I shuffled into the seat that was farthest away from Sebastian in hope of distancing myself from him. He was talking to a group of guys, one of which I recognized as one of Cam's friends from the team. Brandon I think it was. The teacher than called for the class to take a seat and unfortunately for me Sebastian took the time to walk over to the seat next to mine.
"Hey, Sage." He said with a look of hope.
"Hi." I replied in attempt to ease my rudeness of avoiding him.
"So... Can we talk?"
"Sebastian," His name came out of my lips almost like a plea. A plea that he would stop. Talking meant acknowledging that he was here, and learning why he was here. Though I was curious of his presence, this would just lead to so many complications, and questions. Questions that I wasn't ready to face. "Now isn't really a good time." I tried to explain to him. I didn't really think there would be a good time.
"Then we can talk later. During lunch, or after-" Before he could finish his thought he was cut off by the teacher.
"Since this is the second day of school, today you will be getting your table partners for the rest of the semester." The teacher announced before pointing to tables, and sharing who will be sitting at each of them. I was called when he was in the back right corner of the classroom next to the door. I took my seat right away, and luckily Sebastian couldn't finish was he was saying earlier because we went right into class.
After an hour and a half of talking about constellations and the moon cycle, the dismissal bell rang sharply. I gathered all of my things and ran out of the classroom as Sebastian approached.
"Sage! Wait up!"
I ignored him, darting for the stairs. But a hand on my shoulder stopped me cold.
"Sage? Are you okay?"
I stared into Marcel's bright blue eyes. He was wearing a headband once again, and his glasses were pushed to the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just... trying to avoid someone." I answered him.
"Here, I'll help you out. Follow me." Marcel started to walk towards the library. He turned back every once and a while to make sure I was following him. In a few mere seconds, we got to the library doors. He held them open for me and had me walk past him. After he entered, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards a side room that had two teachers inside and another senior. The senior that was there recognized him and waved at him. Marcel waved back, grabbed my shoulders gently and escorted me to a table by the senior.
We sat down at the table, facing each other.
"So...Who exactly are you trying to avoid?"
I thought for a moment. This was a guy, a senior might I add, who I barely knew. Was I going to trust him with my secrets already? Was he even such a person to be trusted?
"Someone ... it's a long story."
"Well, no matter who you are trying to avoid, I can help. I have to make a couple of pictures with Sticky Notes and I could really use some help."
"Marcel, I'd love to, but I have to get to lunch. Cam will be waiting for me."
"Okay," he said, sounding disappointed.
"Maybe next time."
"It's a plan. See ya later, Sage."
"Bye Marcel." I said with a wave goodbye. I exited through the doors that lead to the commons and I looked for Cameron. Right now he was the only one that could make me feel better after all the Sebastian related crap. I didn't want to talk to Sebastian, I didn't want to talk about Sebastian. Why couldn't Sebastian just go away! Being distracted from all of the loud thoughts in my head, I didn't notice that my cheeks were stained with tears. I rushed to the closest bathroom, so I could clean up before anyone saw me like this.
There was only one girl still in there but when she saw me in this weird crying state, she rushed out. I thankfully didn't wear makeup that day so I didn't have any tear streaks. Only a blotchy face and red eyes.
When I left Italy, I expected my life to go back to normal. I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with any Italian guys anymore -- meaning Sebastian -- and that I could have a normal Freshman year of high school. But, of course, the world hates my guts and decides to throw all of my Italy experiences in my face. And with Sebastian back it just brought up old new. Stuff I wasn't ready to think about.
Just as I turned the water on to wash my face, the door opened revealing a wide-eyed Cassie.
"Hey, what's going on?" She asked. I tried to turn in the other direction.
"Nothing." Seconds after I replied, the door opened again. Stood in the doorway was Cameron with his eyes covered.
"Can I come in?" He curiously questioned.
Cassie and I both responded by yelling "No!", but he came in anyway. After entering, he walked quickly towards me and engulfed me in a huge hug causing us to slightly sway back and forth.
"Wanna talk?" He whispered.
"No." A simple, but efficient response in this case. I'm just glad that Cam didn't push the subject.
"Okay, but I'll be here waiting when you do."
"Okay."

The school day went by slowly, I thankfully didn't have to deal with a roaming Sebastian for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I did have to deal with Cassie and her unending questions. She kept asking if I were secretly dating someone and if he broke up with me or something. I would just laugh at her and tell her no.
Cameron was in the process of driving us home in his fancy car. The radio was very quiet unlike it was this morning, but that didn't stop me from hearing Disturbed's version of 'The Sound of Silence'. Since this was one of my favorite songs, I lightly hummed along. Cameron noticed and smiled over at me, turning up the radio. I was lucky to have Cam. I knew I didn't always say it, but I was. Cameron always knew how to put a smile on my face- sometimes despite my best efforts, and I don't know many people who can do that. I looked over into eyes that were full of bliss and happiness. Glad just to be with me for a car ride. My attention flickered to the side as I caught a flash of something coming toward us.
"Oh my god!" I screamed, causing Cam to cry out and hit the brakes. A car horn honked loudly as Cameron shielded me with his arm. The brakes shrieked as the car spun. The opposing truck bashed into us at such force my body was lashing around in the seat, causing me to hit my head on the dashboard hard. The car hit the curb and came to an abrupt stop. The person that had hit us stopped as well.
"Sage? Are you okay? Sage!" Cameron yelled. I was about to tell him that I was okay, but before I could answer, his eyes widened. "Sage, you're bleeding!"
The shock of almost dying cleared enough that I was suddenly aware of my throbbing head. I reached my hand up to touch the right side of my forehead and when I brought my hand back down, there was blood staining all my fingers. Cam yelled for me, but I couldn't understand a word he said. My vision soon became nothing and Cameron's voice was drowned out by the sound of ringing.
