Hey! *cue glares and rotten tomatoes* ^^; So I have just been hit with the horrific case of writers block but I decided on doing something that might piss you off, but will be to the advantage of the book. So, have fun reading and here's another chapter. It's a filler though!!

We sat and talked in the garden under the warm sun. Our conversation would have pleasant if Kain had stopped interrupting the explanation of my past. But I pestered him with warnings before continuing. I spoke about my mom, what happened years ago and months ago in hopes to relate with Kain. It is stupid trying to befriend him but I will be honest and say that when we suffer we suffer as equals. When we sin, we sin as equals.
I got to the end of my story and sighed. I couldn’t believe that I went through that much at some point in my life but I’m proud of my scars. I lifted my focus to Kain and met his glare with a frown.
“What?” I asked while shrugging.
He scoffed and looked off in to the distance.
“It’s surreal what you went through.”
I nodded in agreement and looked back at the balcony I was on minutes ago.
“But don’t expect me to share with you twinkle toes.”
My palm immediately hit my face with that retort.
“Kain, this is something serious. Could you quit being an ass for-“
“I was born first,” he interjected, gaining my attention. “My mom and I never knew about the affair. But when I was about thirteen or so, Jordan was brought home. She was introduced as my sister. My dad fawned over her and gave her everything as a way to compensate for what she never had – a family. After a few years, I began to hate her. She is my sister and I’ll treat her like one too but... she is the heir to the companies yet I’m the legitimate child.”
I lowered my hand slightly, rubbing down my cheek with a hesitant fall. Kain sighed and ran his hand through his hair. Maybe the theory that bullies can be justified is true.
“Ka-“
“Candice will get mad at us if you understand me better than her,” Kain abruptly said as he stood up.
I blinked in confusion and kept silent. That would be a very weird situation.
“Let’s go back in. My dad is most likely waiting for us.”
I stood.
“I really don’t think I want to know the answer anymore.”
Kain arched a brow at me before walking.
“What happened to the ‘oh-so-cool’ twat face you were earlier?”
I frowned. It seems that he clearly couldn’t speak to me without insult.
“Well, I know your dad. And I kinda... took Jordan out before ... while I was-“
“You were?” he encouraged threatingly.
“Um, n-nothing. Anyways, let’s find him.”
Kain eyed me curiously but let it go to lead the way to the lounge. His effortless navigation was one to envy but he did live here after all.
The lounge was dim. The curtains were not drawn and for some odd reason the ambience was eerily dark. Mark sat on one of the couches with an empty wine glass in his hand, tracing the rim with the forefinger of his free hand. It was usual for him to do that at the bar when he was strained in thought. This did not seem good for me.
“Dad, I’m sorry about earlier. Please forgive me for speaking out of line. But... Eden and I are back,” Kain turned to look at me with a smirk. “Let’s do what we came here to do.”
How unsettling. He made it sound like it was a plan for his dad and him to kill me or something. I awkwardly smiled and scratched my cheek.
“Yes, but I’ll make it short and say I can’t let Eden date Jordan.”
“What?” Kain and I said together.
