"Riley!" Two males walking down my street called out. I set my phone and basketball down on the pavement beside me and pulled myself up, taking a minute to tie my shoes. "Hey!" I smiled. It was Jack and Matt, two old friends, and they were holding a plastic bag. "What is that?" I asked, poking my fingers at Jack's ribs. Matt pulled open the bag and showed me the greenish substance inside, along with a smaller bag with pills inside. Even though I knew not to do this stuff like my parents, something still pushed me to go upstairs and change, then follow Jack and Matt back to their home.

"Are you sure?" Jack asked, setting his hand on my hip. I tensed up from how hard of a grasp he had and pulled myself off of his side. "Light up!" I smiled nervously, grabbing the lighter from Matt. After a few puffs, we were all a little high, so we all picked a place on the floor to relax and I fell back onto jack's lap, moving my legs on his thighs as I squirmed to the song playing. I didn't know what to do when I felt a growing bulge underneath my leg, getting stronger by the second. I looked up at Jack to see his jaw tensing, nervousness making his throat bob up and down.

I turned my body so I was straddling him, causing an uneasiness feeling in the room. I placed a few wet kisses on his jaw and ran my fingers through his hair, earning a soft groan out of him. Before anything could happen, I crawled onto the couch and let him fix his situation.

Matt pulled out the narcotics in the smaller bag and placed a few of the pills on a flat surface, crushing them up and smoothing them together. I had never done any crack or anything, so this was a different feeling. "Do I just snort?" I asked, unsure of the procedure. Matt smiled and Jack pulled my hair out of my face and helped me through it all.

After I finished the pills clean, I decided I wanted more, so I snatched the bag from Jack and pratically poured the whole thing onto the table. "Whoa, slow down!" Jack yelled, trying to stop me. I pushed him away and sniffed it all up, earning a bloody nose and pounding headache. "I don't feel so good." I groaned. Before any longer, my head hit the floor and my eyes automatically closed, everything going black. "Riley!" Jack and Matt yelled, but I couldn't hear them too well.

at the hospital:

I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of a machine beeping next to where I was laying. "Where am I?" I asked, propping myself up with my elbows. A hand was placed on top of my leg and rubbed the blanket covering me. "The hospital, you overdosed, but the doctors saved you." It was Kian talking and his eyes were red and puffy from crying. "Riley, I love you." He cried. I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him in for a hug. It's so cute how caring and loving he is, but I don't know him that well yet to know whether he is the one. Plus, I'm obviously not good at life, so why would I be good with a relationship?

"How did I get here?" I asked, sitting up in the white bed. I absolutely hated hospitals, they smelt like death, the food was horrible, I couldn't smoke at a time like this, and everybody was always so sad when they would visit people. "Jack and Matt rushed you over here and they called me." He smiled. I looked around the room for my jacket and stumbled out of the bed, falling onto the floor face first. "Easy, the doctors did say your legs would be a little numb." Kian said, holding his hand out to pull me up. I grabbed his hand and stood back up, using him to guide me to the chair holding my jacket and phone.

"What is it your doing?" Kaitlyn asked, coming in. I switched from Kian's arms to falling into a hug with my sister. "Baby, what happened?" She asked, setting her keys down and taking a seat next to the hospital bed. I was super freezing, so I layed back down and wrapped myself in the white blanket next to me. "I'll leave you two alone." Kian said before walking out of the now intense room. "I didn't mean to!" I began to beg for her forgiveness. "I was trying to have some fun after worrying about mom and dad." I lied, and Kaitlyn knew I was lying too.

I didn't care anymore about my parents, I really was just in too much of a mood to care at all, so I accepted the drugs. Just as Kaityln was about to yell at me, Jack and Matt walked in holding some coffee cups labeled with the our names. "Riley, we are so sorry." Jack apologized. Matt stepped over to me and handed me the beverage in his hand, hugging me before stepping away. "It's fine, just get me out of this unpleasant place." I said, raising an eyebrow and looking around the sad room.
