Akai, Prince: 22 year old Firebender from the Fire Nation. Great grandson of Firelord Rina, and Prince Kunshu's son.
Akemi, General: 48 year old Firebender from the Fire Nation. Has just been nominated General of the Fire Army. She is General Ayumi's daughter and prince Kunshu's cousin. Granddaughter of Firelord Rina.
Ameth, Professor: a male metalbender from ZaoFu. Teaches advanced earthbending, metalbending and uses metalbending in healing arts at the Western Air Temple.
Ayumi, General: 73 year old Firebender from the Fire Nation. Firelord Rina's daughter and General Roku's sister. Became General of the Fire Army after General Roku's death. Died from complication of Lung Burn, a bending malady affecting firebenders. Her daughter, Akemi, became general.
Bansi Samir: 20 year old Airbender and Spiritbender from United Republic of Nations. He's a third year InterSpirit Communications student at the Western Air Temple.
Buniq Sato Tikaani: 18 year old Waterbender from United Republic of Nations. Professor Kaito's daughter. She's a second year InterSpirit Communications student at the Western Air Temple.
Chou Kasai: 18 year old Firebender from the Fire Nation. She doesn't know how to bend because she's on bending supressents, treating for Fire Madness, a mental malady that affects firebenders. She's a first year Diplomacy student at the Western Air Temple.
Daisuke: Chou's fox cat.
Emi: Firebender from the Fire Nation. Is a student monitor at the Western Air Temple.
Kaito Sato, Professor: 38 year old Waterbender from the United Republic of Nations. Teaches Bending Health and Waterbending at the Western Air Temple. Buniq's mother.
Kunshu, Prince: 47 year old Firebender from the Firenation. Grandson of Firelord Rina, son of Prince Roku. President of the Earthen Fire Refinery. Plans to grow the Fire Nation and restore their former glory by opening the nation to corporation investments.
Ling Hun: 19 year old Airbender from the Republic of Omashu. Chou's roommate at the Western Air Temple. She's a deaf-mute airbender who uses airbending to communicate, a bending specialty known as soundbending. She's a second year Bending Health student and plans to help other disabled people through bending, using bending skills such as airpucture.
Rina, Firelord: 104 year old Firebender from the Fire Nation. Firelord. Succeeded his father Firelord Iroh after he resigned to become a permanent member of the Fire Senate. She became Firelord at the age of 60. She doesn't want to leave the crown because she fears his grandson Kunshu will dismantle the Monarchy in favor of the corporations, one of which he is president. Has an ancient dragon named Hotaru who mothered a young dragon named Kokoro on the last cycle.
Rinzen, Professor: Male airbender from Air Temple Island. He's a Spiritbending and Airbending professor at the Western Air Temple.
Roku, General and Prince: Firelord Rina's son and heir. Was killed at the Terrorist Attack at the Fire Nation Capital. Died at the age of 59.
