I awoke to the sound of destruction. Sirens flooded my head and the undeniable feeling that something was wrong wouldn't escape my mind. My barefeet touched the cold floor, as I climbed out of bed, my mind spinning.
I made my way to the stairs and rushed down them as fast as I possibly could. My mother sat on the sofa, hysterical. My twin sister, Joanie, was planted directly in front of the tele. I watched as her brilliant golden eyes sparkled in awe. Her gorgeous brown curls cascaded upon her hips and her plump lips agape. The look on her face sent shivers down my spine. A look of distress and helplessness.
"Mum! What's going on?" I screamed, desperate for answers. She shook her head and began to wail. Tears flooded down her cheek. Obviously with no help from my mother, I turned to Joanie. "What in the hell is going on?" I pleaded. Without a noise she lifted her arm and pointed a finger at the tele. Her hand shaking as she placed it over her mouth. I turned my attention to the screen, the sight of burning buildings and army tanks filled my eyes. Troops rushed out and began to fire semi automatics. Smoke and debris covered the streets of Los Angeles. What I saw next was chilling.
Seemingly out of nowhere a man appeared out of the ash and debris. He attacked a troop causing the soldier to fire his gun with no control. Bullets ricochetd everywhere as the troop was finally taken down. When the man got up, he stared directly into the camera.
Only it wasn't a man.... it was a zombie....?
