I was complaining about school the other day and my mom told me about how school was like in Haiti. If you were late you got hit. If you slept in class you got hit. If you didn't do your homework you hot hit. If you were disrespectful you got hit, they told you to bring your parents and they'd beat you in front the teacher. Now, you could easily say any random person on the street is your parent, but apparently they'd still beat you (a perfect stranger) and if you told the teacher that person isn't your parent, you'd get beat up for lying.
Teachers made home visits. My mom told me about how her sister stopped going to school at like 9 years old. Because one time, she didn't come to school so the teacher stopped by the house to see went she didn't come to school. She saw the teacher coming and she quickly boiled some water saw her teacher peaking in through the window and threw the pot of boiling water at his face! She said she wouldn't go to school anymore because she knew that they were going to beat her ass raw when she came back. 😂😂😂
