James smiled and cupped his hand on Maia's cheek. Then as if on sync. Leaned in at the same time. Then he stopped only a inch before her.
"I've been waiting to do this since day one."
He smiled then connected their lips. They fitted like a two puzzle pieces. Maia wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his around her waist. Neither daring to let go of one another. James was the one to break the kiss for air. Then he chuckled.
"Surprised your mom or someone didn't show up."
Maia giggled.
"Oh my god that was adorable."
Maia's cheeks tinted pink. And James could only stare into her beautiful orbs.
"Can we just lay here for a little."
"Of course."
They layed there on that grassy hill, under the stars. Neither minding the silence between eachother. All that could be heard was eachother breathing and crickets. About thirty minutes later Maia had fallen asleep in James' arms. James had been playing with her hair the whole time. Eventually, he picked her up and walked back to his car. Carefully setting her in the passengers seat before buckling her seat belt and kissing her forehead. James walked to the drivers seat and buckled his seat belt. He drove in scilence. He could hear both Maia and his soft breathing. James drummed his fingers on the steering wheel. He pulled into Maia's driveway. James then got out of the car and knocked on Maia's front door. It opened to see Maia's mother smiling.
"Hello James."
"Hi, I have Maia in the car she fell asleep."
The woman smiled.
"Would you mind bringing her in. You can just put her on her bed."
James nodded and walked to the passengers seat. Opening the door and unbuckling Maia from the seat.
"Come on cutie. Let's get you inside."
James picked Maia up bridal style and brought her inside. He walked to Maia's bedroom and pushed the door open with his foot. He set the sleeping girl onto her bed.
"Bye Cutie."
James kissed Maia's forehead and walked downstairs and out the front door. He got into his car and drove home. James hit his head on his steering wheel. He had work tomorrow. Wonderful.

~the next day~

Maia was wiping down tables when James walked in.
"Oh uh, hey Maia."
"Hey James."
James punched in and started helping Maia. Maia flipped the sign that said "Closed" so it said "Open." The coffee shop filled up quick. Maia was working the register. The customers got their bill then had to pay at the register. James had taken Table 7. Which to his luck, was filled with four annoying teenage girls. He walked over with his notepad in his apron pocket.
"Four waters please."
"But I wanna coke."
"OH MY GOD JESSICA YOU FAT BITCH"
James got out of there quickly. Unfortunately, he'd have to come back to that table. He brought the ladies their water and took out the notepad, writing the orders down for each of the ladies.
"Hey, after your shift are you busy~?"
One of the girls questioned. Maia happened to look at them.
"Yes I am."
The girl made a pouty face.
"Well maybe we could have fun instead?"
James chuckled.
"Sorry I've got a girl that's way better."
He turned on his heel and walked towards the counter to put in the order. He didn't have another table yet so he just waited.
"You played that off well"
James looked towards Maia.
"Why thank you."
They talked until their shifts were over. After all, they were the ones who had to lock the place up. James stood inside the coffee shop with Maia.
"Hey uh, Maia?"
"Yes James?"
"Are we uh, ya know, a erm."
"Go on..."
"Are we like, ya know.."
Maia smirked.
"C'mere ya dork."
Maia grabbed James' collar and kissed him. James' face was a light shade of red. Maia let go and walks outside. Though before she left she looked over her shoulder at James.
"Bye Lover-boy."
She turned and walked away from the coffee shop. James walked outside and locked the door.

He certainly wasn't gonna forget that.
