PERCY'S POV:
Two men ran down the streets of New York in the early dawn light, they held glowing blades in their hands. They were wearing black outfits and had dark, swirling lines covering their exposed skin; their feet made no sound as they pounded against the sidewalk. They both kept looking over their shoulders every minute making Percy think that something was pursuing them. When the pair reached an alleyway they ducked into it and crouched behind a giant bin where a girl with long, black hair, wearing the same clothing as the men, was waiting.
"Jace, what was that? I've never seen a demon like that before, it didn't even look like anything from the demonology books." the dark-haired guy whispered to the man with golden hair. This man, obviously 'Jace' shook his head.
"I have no idea, not a common occurrence. It looked like a giant bloody lion....with hooves....and a snake for a tail." The other man nodded in agreement and the girl's eyes widened.
"What?" the dark haired boy asked, he looked like the girl. Dark hair, pale skin and bright blue eyes. They were quite clearly brother and sister.
"This is going to sound crazy but I think it's a 'Chimera"." She got blank looks from the other two and, despite their current situation, rolled her eyes. "It's from Greek mythology but it's just a legend it shouldn't exist. I-"
She couldn't finish her sentence as the Chimera suddenly appeared at the end of the alleyway and roared loudly. The two men raised their glowing blades and the girl copied, drawing her knife and muttering 'Hadraniel' which caused the blade to glow like the other two. The Chimera paused before growling and leaping at the trio.
Percy jerked awake and sat up quickly in bed, instinctively reaching for his pen, Riptide, that lay on his bedside table.
Coming to his senses, he let his arm drop back to his side and ran a hand through his hair. The clock on his wall said 5am, it was far too early to go to the dining hall, but Percy knew he had no chance of going back to sleep.
He decided to get up and take a walk down to the lake, he needed to relax and think about what he'd seen in the dream.Down at the lake, Percy sat on the floor and made shapes with the water in the air in front of him which calmed his mind. He began to wonder who the people in his dream were, as a Demigod's dream often was reality somewhere else. The trio obviously weren't mortals as the Mist didn't seem to affect them. However, Percy didn't think they had ever seen a Chimera before, as they didn't know what it was and instead of calling it a monster, they referred to 'demons'. If they were new Demigods they wouldn't have known how to fight and would have seemed terrified, yet if they had known their identities for a while they would have recognised the monster. The people were also wearing what looked like protective clothing but he had never seen material like that before. Percy was also puzzled by the glowing blades, they weren't celestial bronze as no blades he knew of looked like that. The girl had also seemed to 'activate' the blade by speaking something. She had said 'Hadraniel'.
Percy decided to go to Chiron and see if he had any answers. He let the water he had been playing with fall back into the lake and got up, brushed himself off and headed to the Big House. As he walked passed the dining hall he was surprised to see it full of Campers. He looked up at the clock on the far wall and saw that it was 7am, he had been sat by the lake for 2 hours. He hadn't been there that long had he? For a moment a terrifying image if the Titan Kronos flashed through his mind and Percy froze. The Titan lord had the power to manipulate time, slow it down speed it up. What if he had escaped his prison and decided to take revenge again? Annabeth would be in danger, Camp, Chiron - No. Kronos was gone. Back in the deepest pit of Tartarus; where he belonged.
Percy decided it wouldn't hurt to eat before going to see Chiron, so he walked into the dining hall and went to sit at the Poseidon table. Percy was shocked, however, to see that his table wasn't empty like it usually was. It was occupied by a large guy with thick, dark hair and a single brown eye.
"Tyson?!" Percy called out, making everyone in the hall turn and look at him. The newer campers looked shocked and nervous but those who knew Tyson and his relation to Percy just smiled. Tyson looked up and grinned broadly.
