PERCY'S POV:

Percy and Grover were walking somewhat aimlessly through the Institute. They didn't talk but Percy was glad to have the company of his best friend. He didn't know what had come over him back in the training room and he was slightly embarrassed to have broken down like that in front of the others yet he just hated having his Achilles heel so much. Anyone would think he'd be happy about the fact that he couldn't be hurt by knives and such and sure it helped in battles, but he felt horrible every time he won a fight. Like after he'd beaten Jace, he always felt like he'd cheated to win. Sometimes he used the rebound of the weapon off his skin and he more often than not just won the fight simply because of good swordsmanship but either way he'd come out of the fight thinking he'd had an unfair advantage.

Whenever this happened Annabeth would comfort him, remind him that by bathing in the River Styx he'd ensured their victory at Manhatttan and helped to stop Kronos and that reminder helped him to remember that he'd done some good with his Achilles heel. More than anything just having Annabeth with him put his mind at ease, told him that she didn't think any less of him because of his advantage.

"You okay Perce?" Grover asked, breaking the silence. Percy glanced over at his friend and saw that Grover was looking at him with concern.

"Yeah. I-I just need some fresh air and... time. I'll be okay though, thanks Grover." He smiled and was surprised to find it was genuine. He knew that he would be okay.

Grover and Percy had reached the elevator going down to the front door of the Institute and they got in, Percy pulling the gates shut and pressing the button to go down. The elevator rumbled as they descended and in a minute or so they arrived down in the church area. It was big and airy in this area and everything but the walkways was coated in a thin layer if dust that stirred ever so slightly when a breeze swept through the room. It reminded Percy of the attic back at camp before Rachel became the Oracle, he'd been in there way too many times.

The two of them stepped through the large, oak doors at the front of the church and were greeted by a gust of wind and the bright afternoon sun. Percy went and sat on the wall surrounding the Institute and watched the passing pedestrians traffic, Grover copied this action ans sat with him. As they passed, people would look up at the two of them but resume walking, continuing with their regular lives while things so much more sinister went on under their noses.

The sound of the traffic was calming Percy's mind and he sat peacefully until the Institute doors crashed open making him and Grover start. Percy whipped around, reaching for Riptide but saw that it was only Jessie. He smiled at her as she walked out. She had her hair tied into a bun, black eyeliner rimming her large eyes and she was wearing a plain black vest top with skinny jeans - Percy had no idea how she did training in that outfit. He jumped down from the wall along with Grover and they began to walk towards Jessie, Percy was still smiling until he saw the slightly scared look on her face.

"What's up? You look like you've seen a Titan." Percy said with concern.

For a moment, Jessie's face displayed confusion before it changed to an annoyed look "One," she held up her index finger "I have absolutely no idea what a Titan is. And two, there is a freaking GOD sat on our sofa in the library waiting for you." She poked him in the chest and Percy paled. His stomach dropped and he gulped audibly while Grover bleated nervously.

Percy had had enough experiences with Gods to not be frightened by their presence alone, however he had managed to piss off quite a few of the Gods in his time and it wasn't like them to just drop by and say hi.

"Uh, right. I-um," he took a breath, please Gods say it's not Athena "Which God is it?"

"Hermes? I think that's how he said it." Percy let out a sigh of relief, he believed that, excluding his father and Aphrodite, Hermes probably hated him the least.
