Just thought that I should repeat the very obvious fact that I do not own The Mortal Instruments or Percy Jackson. All rights for those go to Cassandra Clare and Rick Riordan ;)

PERCY'S POV:

The girl stood in the doorway was certainly the strangest stranger Percy had seen all day, and that was saying something considering the group of people assembled in front of him. She had shoulder length hair that was dyed a deep shade of blue and was wearing black clothes like Jace, Clary, Isabelle and Alec with thin, black boots. She walked in and her features became clearer - she had blue eyes and pixieish features that wouldn't have looked out of place on a Hermes kid.

She nodded to Clary, Isabelle and Alec as she walked in "Evening guys." she nodded to Simon "Fang boy" and finally Jace "Ass"

She came and sat on the arm of the sofa - next to Simon - and studied Percy and his friends carefully.

"I sleep for a few hours and you guys all disappear then turn up with a bunch of strangers at the Institute's front door. What exactly did I miss?" Jessie said, crossing her arms.

"Well we did offer you a chance to go out with us Jess, if you'd just taken the time to get your bloody lazy arse-" Jace started but was cut off by none other than Annabeth.

"Hey!" the Shadowhunters looked at her in shock while the Demigods just smirked - it's never a good idea to keep Annabeth waiting. "I was under the impression you brought us here to talk. Right now I'm this close to getting up and walking out - I'm not sitting here to listen to you bicker all night. You're as bad as Zeus and Poseidon!" at that last sentence Percy heard thunder rumble above their heads and he cringed.

"Maybe you shouldn't have said that last part Wise Girl." he mumbled. Annabeth just rolled her eyes and continued glaring at the Shadowhunters, who now looked extremely confused and worried - if it was worry for the Demigods' sanity he wouldn't blame them.

"What the hell is going on with you guys? Olympus, Zeus, Poseidon and Hefatus? You need to talk. Right now." Jace growled.

"Well firstly - it's Hephaestus. Not 'Hefatus', secondly - you should watch what you say, it's not a good idea to go throwing names around like that. Names have power." Thalia growled right back at Jace. Percy could tell those two were going to get along swimmingly...

"Okay, before this gets out of hand we need to know that we can trust you. We can't just go revealing our life stories to anyone. And, no offense, you guys don't really seem like a trustworthy lot." Annabeth spoke again. Percy wondered why Clarisse wasn't saying anything. Had she finally learned that threatening to stab people was never a good method for making friends?

"Well how do we know we can trust you? You're not the only ones with secrets." Alec inserted.

And, what do you know - Clarisse decides that this is a wonderful moment to get involved and spread her little rays of sunshine all around.

"Why don't we just kill them and be done with it. They're not worth our time."

Jace stood up and Alec followed suit. "Oh you are on twinkle toes."

Clarisse pulled her electric spear out and Jace pulled out his blade. Clary had her hand on Jace's shoulder but Isabelle was pulling her back.

"Clarisse sit back down!" Annabeth yelled over Jace and Clarisse's arguing. She and Percy shared a look and he knew there was only one way to resolve this.

"Hey-" Percy couldn't make himself heard over the shouting - the maiming and killing hadn't started... yet.

Percy spotted a sink at the other side of the room and concentrated on it; closing his eyes he felt the familiar tugging in his gut that signalled his connection with the water. It may not have been salt water but it would do the job.
