19 - Imagine Dragons & A Date

School day was finally over and I just felt like walking home. Duncan was okay with it since he was staying in school at the library. No, he was not going to study, he was stalking Bailey.

I am not even exaggerating here. He spends all day long talking about her, asking me everything about her and I have to suppress the smile threatening to come out of my lips because I know he will punch me in the arm – he does not measure his force on me, he has left a bruise before, but worry not, I hit him back really hard- or pick on me if I bother him.

I know he has feelings for her, he cannot lie to me and I find it so cute. I never thought about them being together before, but after the sparks I saw the other day when we were having our girls’ day in, I was actually surprised nothing had happened between them before. Maybe the fact that Alyssa and Madison practically owned Bailey had an influence in the matter.

We have been receiving cold stares from those two but luckily for us nothing else has happened. It has not gone farther than that. They do not come any close to us and I know that must be killing them that Duncan and Liam are always with us and that they want the guys to notice them and be with them. But things are pretty laid back right now; no more drama and I can finally relax and focus on my family. My parents went to Hawaii for their honeymoon so it is still just me and Duncan in the house.

I smile as I think of that, of how great things are going right now for me when I feel a gentle tap on my shoulder. My inner ninja pops out, ready to attack but then I relax when I see it is Liam.

But I relax just for a second because I now he is not going to murder me. As soon as my mind processes it is Liam who is in front of me I enter a state of shock. I am really bad at having a crush on someone, I get really nervous around them and I hyperventilate a lot.

“Walking home?” he asks and pulls up his backpack, involuntarily flexing his muscles and making me gulp.

“Yeah,” I squeak and try to look cool even though I am dying inside. “What about you?”

“Yeah, same thing. Mind if I join you?”

“Not at all.”

“And what have you been up to today, Jenna?” he asked and I could see he actually wanted to know how I was doing, it was in his eyes. In those beautiful brown eyes that get me spinning every time I glance at them.

“Nothing much, just looking around and making a theoretical relationship between Duncan and Bailey,” I said, shrugging casually, even though I just wanted to know if he has noticed too. He must know something; he is his best friend after all.

“You have noticed that too?” he asked amused.

I chuckled. “Yeah, who wouldn’t?”

“There is a real spark right there, huh?” he said smiling. It seemed as if he thought the same way I do, that if something happens there it would be good. They would make a great couple.

“Yeah, a very bright spark,” I agreed.

We remained silent for a while and only walked. But I caught glances of him and he seemed as if he was debating himself on saying something.

After a while he looked at me and I pretended like I had not been gazing at him for the past five minutes while drooling. “Hey Jenna, did you hear Imagine Dragons were coming here?” he asked nervously and I wondered where he was going with this and why he was so nervous. It’s just a band.

“Yeah, they are having a small tour right, and they have a show here?”

“Yeah.” He nodded and then looked at his feet for a while and stopped walking. He seemed nervous but I could not understand why. “Would you like to go?”
