I'm assuming I blacked out because when I opened my eyes I thought I was hallucinating. My mom was there. At first I didn't want to say anything. "Kylie?" My mother asked. "Mom?" I asked. My mom rested her hand on my cheek, Dylan looked like he was okay. He was set up in a chair facing my coach who was speaking to him. "Are you okay?" She asked me. "I'm fine. Is Dylan okay?" I asked, attempting to sit up. A paramedic lifted me into a chair so I could sit more comfortably. The camera was pointed towards me. My dad looked towards Dylan. "He's okay. Our main concern is you." My dad said looking at me. "Where's Brady?" I asked looking around. "Don't worry about Brady honey." My mom got on her knees so she was eye level with me. "I walked in as soon as you came back up. I knew something was wrong when they pulled Dylan from your arms. You saved his life." My mom had her hand on my knee. My coach came up behind my mom and dad. "I'm sorry to interrupt but may I have a word with Kylie please?" My coach asked.
My mom got off of her knees. "Sure." She and my dad walked away. My coach got on his knees in front of me. He was silent for a moment then spoke. "How did you manage to do that?" He asked me. "I though you weren't supposed to lift anything heavy with your shoulder still healing." My coach added. "I knew he was in trouble. I had to help." I looked at my feet then back up at Coach Henry. "What I'm meaning to say is that if you hadn't have been standing here, he wouldn't have been noticed until it was too late." Coach Henry shook his head. I was silent, I could feel that my arm was in a sling and really sore, so they'd popped my shoulder back in I knew that.
"I'm guessing I'm not going to get to swim today." I muttered. Coach Henry chuckled. "I'm afraid not." I looked at Dylan. Dylan got up and walked over to me slowly. "I'm so sorry this had to happen today on your birthday." Dylan muttered. "Its fine." I shrugged with my good shoulder. Dylan reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small box, handing it to me. I meant to give this to you earlier but I didn't get the chance." I took the box from his hand and opened it. Inside was a bracelet. On it was a heart and engraved in the heart were the words 'best friend' and another small heart. I looked up at Dylan smiling. "Its perfect." I smiled. I stood up hugging him. He hugged me too, being careful not to hit my right arm. My coach grinned. I knew I was blushing, so was Dylan, but for once I didn't really care.
