The next few days were like living in fire. I was super sore, my shoulder hurt, and just everything hurt. It was finally Saturday. The day me and Dylan were to meet up at the beach. "Hey Dad I'm going to the beach." I yelled as I opened the door. "OK, just be careful." He shouted. "I know!" I shut the door. I walked down the road to the beach, when I got there I couldn't find Dylan. "Really Dylan?" I muttered. I pulled out my phone. 'where are you?' I asked him. 'Sorry I had to help my mom with Claire, I'm on my way now' He replied. 'KK' was my response. In about five minutes I seen Dylan walking into the sand. "Dylan! Over here!" I yelled, he looked around spotting me and walked toward me. "Took you long enough." I joked. "Hey shut up. You've done the same thing." He joked. "True." I nodded idiotically. I had the necklace on, and the journal in my back. "So you know that journal my mom gave me?" I asked him. "Yeah." He replied. I picked up my bag. Come here." I started walking as he followed me. "Its weird seeing you in swim trunks and not a Speedo for once." I muttered
I lead him to a small, short pile of rocks, which I somehow managed to climb up despite having just one arm. Dylan followed after me and we sat on top of them. "So apparently this necklace was found seven generations ago by one of my ancestors. Supposedly it holds either a deadly curse, or a good omen. For the past four or five generations the necklace has only killed, but when it got to my mom it suddenly flipped." I claimed quietly not wanting anyone to hear. "Well whats the good omen?" He asked. "That's the thing I have no idea." I shook my head. "If it was given to your mom then wouldn't she know?" Dylan asked. "I guess. I don't see why she wouldn't. She isn't dead so she must have gotten the good omen." I looked into Dylan's eyes. "Wait... My mom left. We can't contact her." My head dropped in despair. "There has to be a way."
Dylan looked at me. "Do you know where she went?" He asked. "She off on a boat. She won't tell any of us where to." I shook my head. "Would your dad know?" He asked. "Maybe." I muttered. Dylan looked at the rocks then at me. "Let's stop worrying about it and go walk by the water. It may make us feel better." Dylan grabbed my bag and hopped off the rocks. "Ugh..." I looked at the ground. "Just jump I'll catch you." Dylan held out his arms. "Let me save you like you did for me." He pleaded. "If you drop me I kill you." I I claimed. "That's fair." Dylan shrugged. I dropped off of the rocks and in an instant I felt myself land in Dylan's arms bridal style, with my left arm wrapped around his shoulder.
Dylan held me for a moment. "Dang your'e light." He joked. "Shut up no I'm not." I laughed. He began to walk still holding me. "You can put me down if you want." I offered. "Hmm... nah I'll hold you until we get to the end of the jetty." Dylan began to walk out onto the rocks. The tide wasn't too high, but at the end of the jetty Dylan put me down. "And this is where we go in." Dylan tilted his head as he spoke. "Wait we're getting in?" I asked. "Duh." I pulled off the sling. Dylan dove into the water, surfacing after a moment. "Come on." He motioned me into the water. I looked around then jumped in. The necklace seemed to grow heavier around my neck as I surfaced. Dylan was underwater for a minute or so before surfacing. "So?" He asked. "So what?" I asked.
