There is a flame inside my head.
Sometimes it lives,
Sometimes it's dead.
Thoughts,
Feelings,
And all my fears,
Pass swiftly through those careless ears.
I drop my eyes,
I block it out,
But in my head
The fire won't die down.
Take a deep breath,
Slow it down,
But on my face
There is a frown.
My heart beats fast,
My breathing slows,
I breathe in life,
Then out it goes.
I feel so numb,
But I feel the tears.
I've lost count of the days,
Months.
Years.
This flame inside my head-
I fear the day when it burns red.
