a poem for death

You look at the wall,

And the wall looks back.

You think you're fine,

Then you crack

You see the flames,

smell the smoke.

You breath it in

And always choke.

You look in the mirror,

Then look away

Because you count the flaws

Upon your face

The days are gray

An endless haze

You try to keep

your thoughts at bay

But time doesnt tell

You wait and wait

It doesnt get better

You become irate

The sun is there

Up in the sky,

But there is no light

Inside your eyes.

The darkness dwells

Inside your mind-

Something you lost,

In the attempt to try.

Your mind is dead,

But your body alive,

The day you decide

You want to die.
