Where am I?

Darkness.

The world is draped in a curtain of darkness. My eyes were shut tightly, almost like they were tightly bound together. I couldn't feel anything and my heart slowly beating against my chest and my breaths going in and out.

Trapped.

I couldn't move. It was like I was chained to something. I tried to wriggle free of whatever was clutching me, but it was impossible. It was as if someone was pushing me down..or holding me captive. I let out a sound -a gasp- through my clenched teeth, yet I still couldn't move.

Thoughts.

Scenarios, thoughts and fears raced through my head. Where was I? What was going on? Why was I here? Was I dreaming? Was I kidnapped? Was I being held hostage? Was this a prank? Who did this? How did they capture me?

They all lead to a dead end, no possible explanation to the whirlwind of thoughts clouding my head. Surely there has to be a valid reason to why I was trapped here, wherever here was.

Hallucinations.

A soft beep perked my interest. I could've sworn I heard something, or footsteps or something. My logical part told me I was hallucinating, and I was just making up things that didn't exist, that maybe I was force-fed a drug and that's how I landed here. But another part of me was curious, interested, even excited.

Sounds.

When it happens again, I didn't doubt myself. There was definitely someone -or something- there. I took in a sharp breath as I heard the sound getting closer. It clicked against a hard surface, seldom a squeaky sound escaping from it. My mind registered it as footsteps against a metal flooring.

Voices.

"Is she awake?" it was a deep voice, one that belonged to a male. It was all too foreign to me. The voice was clipped, rough, confident and anything but friendly. My stomach churned and my heart began racing. I felt something rise in my throat: possibly bile.

"It's highly unlikely. The drug should last longer than this. But then again, she is a strong soul." another voice. This one was higher pitched but still not warm. It was definitely a female. It was a little more muffled and meek than the previous one, but still conveyed a powerful aura.

"Very true indeed." the male voice agreed, his voice reverberating back at me, sending shivers down my spine.

"Shall we check on her at a better time? Possibly a little...later?" the female voice sounded a little quivered, and it staggered a bit at the end. My curiosity and my gut instinct were battling a war: my instincts told me to shut up and keep my eyes shut, but my curiosity was greedy- like a kid craving chocolate cake. It begged for just a taste, just to take a little piece. In the heat of the moment, my curiosity won and I forced my eyes open.

Light.

I squinted my eyes, adjusting to the brightness of the lights. Two blurry figures stood in front of me, both facing against me, paying no attention to me. I squinted some more, and they became more clear.

One was a tall male, with clipped brown hair and the sharpest brown eyes. Glasses rested on the tip of his nose, threatening to fall over.

The other being was a female with short, platinum blonde hair. She had translucent skin and dawn blue eyes that sparkled if the light made contact with them.

They both wore matching white coats that draped against their knees. Their hair was short, avoiding their faces and eyes.

"I'm afraid that won't be needed." a voice said. Little too late did I realise it was mine.
