Promise

Chapter 18 - truancy

"Hurry!" Veronique yelled before she hang up on me. She was right, I needed to hurry before we missed our train. My phone buzzed again. 

'I'm on my way, see you there, love Fleur.' 

Great, she was on her way and I was running late, again. I quickly grabbed everything and stuffed them in my backpack. I rushed downstairs grabbed my bike and was about to open the door when I heard the stairs.

"Where are you going so early?" my dad had a piercing look. I wasn't a good liar and especially not to my dad. But I really had to lie now. 

"I'm going... to Veronique, some extra study before school." I fiddled with the sleeves of my sweatshirt. 

"Alright, good luck. Can you pick Ryan up after school?" it wasn't really a question because before I could answer he was already gone.

"No, I can't." I yelled and just quickly biked away towards where Veronique was already waiting. I didn't wait for his reply because I knew he would just say that I did had to pick him up. The last few days he had told me that I was neglecting Ryan. But I didn't see it like that. I was just busier than ever with my youtubechannel. Because I now had more viewers, I wanted to make it better.

I knew that Ryan was the one who had been complaining to my mum and dad about me not spending time with him, but I couldn't blame him. We are really close and I didn't spent as much time with him as I used to. But I will make things up with him, eventually, when I do have some time.

Now that I was thinking about it, I did miss him too. But there was no time for regret now. I finally reached Veronique and together we biked to the trainstation where Fleur was already waiting. We quickly locked our bikes and ran to the platform where the train was almost going to drive away. But we just ran into Fleur and pulled her with us in the train. Just when we enterred the doors closed and the train began driving.

"I thought you guys where going to miss the train." Fleur yelled at us.

"I'm sorry!" I was staring at the ground.

"No it's okay, today is going to be fun, so tell me, what exactly are his plans today?" Veronique asked.

"Lis?" I jumped up from the bench we were sitting on when someone touched my shoulder from behind. But I instantly started smiling when I saw Harry standing there with two bodyguards behind him. He was grinning widely at us. 

"Oh, hi." I said shyly. "You remember Veronique and Fleur?" I pointed at my two friends, they had also stand up now and they shook hands with Harry. 

"So what are the plans today sukkel?" I had walked around the bench and was now clunging on his arm a walked after the bodyguards.

"It's a surprise." he said and he laughed.

We were walking round in Amsterdam when we reached the shopping district, it was not really crowded because it was just a school day, but there still where some people. Some of them even recognised Harry and stared at us. I heard some people say my name. And I instantly felt insecure. Harry looked over at me and I just stared at the ground. He reached for my hand and entwined our fingers. "It's okay." he whispered and he smiled at me.

"Look, your surprise." he said while pointing towards madame tussauds! 

"What's the surprise?" I asked teasing.

"Well, I rented it, so we have it for ourselves for three hours!" he looked over to Fleur and Veronique. 

I looked over as well to see their eyes grow. Then I looked back to madame tussauds and I saw a huge line in front of it and the doors were closed. The bodyguards were rushing to the front door and they talked to the people standing in front of it. When we reached it they opened the doors for us.
