Chapter 4: The Office

It is a scary experience sitting in the office for the first time waiting for the principal to arrive, to say the least.

Even though it had only been five minutes since the fight, if even, word had spread around and everyone in the school knew about it by now. Waiting in the office, I saw a head appear in the doorway. It was Conor, one of Jake's friends and one of my new friends. I was expecting him to either act sorry for me or angry at me, but instead, he congratulated me. He said he was proud if me for beating up Clyde, and said he never liked him anyways. So at least something good came from the fight.

After hours of waiting (at least it felt like that), the principal arrived. He was quite short for his age, about 5ft 5in, which is my height, bald and chubby. He stared at me angrily for at least a minutes or two while I looked at him, confused. He was quite weird. Afterwards, he finally introduced himself as Mr. Garrison, and told me off. I was expecting a lot more than just a telling off, but I suppose since I was a new student, he let me off relatively easy for what I had done. He then asked me to write down my account of the events of the fight, which I did in depth, explaining how I was mocked and laughed at by not just Clyde.

I think Mr. Garrison felt a bit of sympathy for me after reading my account, and told me it would be best if I went home for the rest of the day to think things through and allow Clyde and the rest to calm down. I really respected Mr. Garrison for that, and I thanked him before I left. As I exited the office and got ready to leave, the bell rang. That meant there was a new class beginning, and that the hallway I was in would fill with students changing classes.

Trust my luck, the class I should've been in, that was full of my classmates, was in the room next to the office. As that class emptied, Josh, who was unfortunately in my class, spotted me and walked over to me. He was tall and, I wasn't really sure whether it was fat or muscle, but he had a big enough figure. His friend, Joe, walked up to me as well. He was small, chubby and had glasses, like me, although he had picked on me earlier because I had glasses, even though he did too. He was a total retard. I swear he must've broken his neck looking up at Josh as well. They began pushing and mocking me, and just before I let out my rage again, a teacher came up to them and stopped them. The teacher then turned around to me and told me not to worry about them, and also said good luck to me in my new school. She was quite young, but was intelligent and kind.

When I got home, I got straight into bed and dreamt of my P.E. teac... I mean, I thought about the day gone by and what life would throw at me tomorrow. My parents never found out about what happened with me and Clyde, but it didn't matter, because that day was nothing compared to the next...
