As I ran, I decided where to go to. I would head to the estate where all of my friends lived. There was a flaw in my plan, however. There was an hour of school left before they returned home. I thought back to my classmates who I locked in the home ec. room, and how they would get out. Then I remembered that I didn't care about them. So I left them. I did, however, see several police cars race by me in the direction of the school, thankfully not recognising me as the culprit.
As I wandered around town waiting for school to come to a close, I saw someone who seemed to be in a hurry drop their wallet. They didn't notice it fall, and I picked it up. As the words to call him back crawled up my throat, I stopped. This wallet could come in handy. I opened it up when the owner was out of sight and looked at what was in it. €100. Lovely.
I ditched my previous plan, and waited for a bus to go to Dublin, the place I know and love. However, a bus had not arrived by the time school was over, so that meant that people from my class would be walking by me (assuming the police got them out of the home ec. room) and would report me to the police. Just behind the bench I was sitting on was a building site, where a new pub was being built. I hid in there while the school emptied, and, funny enough, Joe walked by the site, talking to his friend. I overheard him talking, saying that he wished he never mocked me, as he thought that I had put him on top of my target list. He had nothing to worry about though, because he was not top of my target list.
He was second.
At last, when the school had emptied, the bus arrived. I joined a queue of people waiting to get on the bus. I thought I noticed someone I recognised in the front of the queue, but I didn't mind it. I did, however, spot Conor I'm the middle of the queue, talking to a girl I had never seen before. I wondered why he was getting on the bus, but the fact he was on it was a comfort for me.
I saw Conor and the girl in two seats beside each other near the front of the bus, so I took the seat behind them. I put my bag on the seat beside me to ensure that nobody sat down there. When the bus started moving, I engaged in conversation with Conor and the girl. He was shocked to see me after what I had done (everyone in the school knew what happened), but after some explaining, he realised how I got to where I was at that moment. Conor then introduced me to the girl he was talking to, who happened to be his sister. Her name was Nadira, and was very nice, yet shy around me. I think she might've been scared of me because she just heard that I had killed one of my classmates and was now a wanted criminal on the run. Maybe not. Who knows.
A/N: Just thought I'd slide in real quick to let you know that I am very fond of sarcasm, and this will reflect on my character in this story. So expect a bit of sarcasm XD
After finding out why Conor and Nadira were going to Dublin (they were visiting their aunt as it was her birthday), I introduced myself to Nadira, and Conor and I tried to convince her not to be scared of me, although I was a murderer.
I don't think at that point I had really come to terms with the fact I had murdered someone, but it has dwelled on me now, and I really regret doing it. Anyways, back to the story.
Halfway up the journey to Dublin, I took a break from having a conversation with Conor and Nadira and had a look around on the bus. I remembered the person I recognised at the front of the queue back at the bus stop, so I looked around the bus to see if I actually did see someone, or whether my eyes had deceived me. Soon enough, I had my answer. Sitting in the back seats of the bus, I saw him. His purple, swollen eyes. His bent, broken nose. His chipped tooth. I was sure it was him. As I examined him, he saw me. We locked eyes for a second or two, and then he got up. Clyde was approaching me...
