I finally get to the city, I toss my long curly red hair to the side and look at the city, dirty and torn apart. Just like me, I smell so foul I don't recognize myself.I never been to the city before not even to get food or go shopping, my mom was just a full on country person. I look at the sky, gray clouds are all over the skies the sun is also gray and pale, like it's really sick.
I hope to look for anybody that's still alive, after what I endured a thunderstorm for whole two days.
Funny how just yesterday I was chilling with my friends at school, now I'm here walking to God knows where.
I still remember hearing the sounds of the tornadoes, wind speeds up to 500/700 miles per hour. I was terrified.
It was like watching something from a indie, end of the world film, but you just didn't know that it was the end.
I traveled from the Mid-Western states to New York, wasn't so hard.
I mean looking for a car that worked perfectly was hard, looking for food and clean water was also pretty hard. I finally start walking across the bridge.
It isn't cold, it feels like it is around 60/50 degrees, but I still keep my jacket on as I continue to wonder and walk around.
I continue to look at all of the damages the storm bought to New York. The buildings are all destroyed one or two buildings manage to stay up, but the windows are shattered and these buildings are crumbling slowly.
It makes me wonder if I an the only one alive in the Western Hemisphere of the world. I continue to walk, to find anybody or anyone.
I finally decide to rest when I reach the inside of the city.
It looks like it's approximately 5 o'clock, the sun is still weak and pale behind these gray clouds. After 30 minutes to an hour of walking across the bridge, I finally make it to the city but the city wasn't welcoming.
Cars, buses, buildings, and people. Bodies, dead bodies were thrown across the city like the people who once inhabited these bodies, didn't even matter. Like the people were nothing but a bunch of toys or dolls.
I breath deep and almost throw up, the smell of dead bodies, rotting flesh, I know it will get worst when warm weather comes.
I find a park bench and sit down, it feels like I am alone. No car sounds, no children or babies at play, no people chattering and gossiping on each other.
Just the wind blowing softly through the whole city, making it sound and look like a ghost city. While I sat there with my eyes closed, I heard a female voice call out,"Hey you!"
It was something so unexpected I looked around to find the owner of the voice, but I couldn't find the body who owned the voice.
I stood up and began to walk in the direction of said voice, the sky above me began to become a little darker.
I need to find some sort of rest spot for the night, but nothing around me seemed pleasant.
"Hey, can you hear me?", the voice called again. The voice echo through the city and it made me feel like there was hope for someone to be alive.
So to know if I was right, I didn't respond back instead I grab my pocket knife from my denim shorts and I pulled it out in front of me. "Yeah, I hear you," I say suspiciously.
After that the voice didn't respond for a few seconds, she finally did after I count to one minute.
"I see your armed," I hear the voice say. Then at the corner of my eye I see a girl step from behind a tree and walks calmly to me. With a gun raised at me.
I stare at the sky, even though I know there is nothing to see. I turn and finally see her, a girl with short brown and big light purple eyes stares suspiciously at me.
"Who are you?," I ask still having my knife raised. She shifts on her feet,"Taurus." She responds quickly, "Who are you?," she asks.
"Skyler," I say. Slowly we raise our weapons down, I put my knife back inside my pocket. While I watch her put her gun back in her black jacket pocket.
"Your alone Skyler?," she asks looking around to see anybody else. "Yes, been alone for quite some time," I respond.
Taurus shifts again on her feet,"No kidding I been alone since this whole entire apocalypse happened," she says.
"Really? Is that what this is?," I ask.
Taurus shrugs,"Armageddon, Revelation, End of times, End of the world," Taurus shrugs again, "doesn't matter what it's called.""True, but it's like the world has started over again like everything that was happening inside it has stopped and now the survivors has to restart everything," I explain.
Taurus looks at the sky,"So... Genesis... that's what this is." "Genesis?," I ask.
"Yeah, it means rebirth, start over, retry, everything that was once here is gone and now the world has to do it over again."
__________________________We found a spot were there isn't any bodies around, but I feel dirty and very disturb for even thinking of sleeping on the ground.
Once it gets dark, without electricity everything is very dark and pitch black. I could hardly see my own long red hair.
Taurus came prepared with a flashlight, everything looks so creepy and haunting. The dead bodies doesn't make it better either.
Taurus lays the flashlight upright so we could see each other, in the ground. Taurus easily makes herself comfortable, she takes off her black jacket and covers herself like a blanket. "Night," she says.
I stare at her for a moment, I do the same to my orange jacket. I put my head against the tree and slowly try to go to sleep.
I can't it's just disturbing to sleep in the dark, with dead bodies around. The wind blows all around the city making the city sound like a giant entity.
Moaning, groaning, howling, and humming.
No Internet and no electricity, can you imagine that?
For some reason I feel very calm and peaceful like all the worries that me and other people had have before these storms had just went away.
Only it's just me and Taurus.
After just about what feels like forever I fall asleep while thinking about life without everything that I had, gone.
