"Claire! Wake up!" Mom screeched at me from downstairs.
"Not the most lovely sound to wake up to!" I grumbled to myself.
"Claire!" She yelled.
"I'm up!" I screamed back.
"Come downstairs now!" She ordered. I did a serious eye-roll. For real? I'm not one of those fake-happy teenagers in the face-wash commercials!
I looked in the mirror. Couldn't she at least give me two minutes to change?!
My hair was majorly bedhead styled.
My face was tired and needed some serious Clearacil, plus some eyeliner
ASAP.
But the worst thing was my pajamas! A plain grey tank top and Miss Piggy pajama shorts!
I grabbed a ponytail on my way out, putting my hair in a very messy bun, and walking down the stairs.
There I saw the worst thing I could imagine. The biggest fear of an average socially-awkward, nerdy, 14-year-old girl...
My heart stopped. My face reddened. My body shuddered.
This was real bad.
