Scorpio X Pisces

Post Workout

Pisces was standing in the middle of the gym, slightly sobbing. Scorpio stood in front of her, his head hung low, saying nothing.

"You never called", he whispered, his voicing shaking.

Pisces kept sobbing. She felt horrible. How could she have done this. I don't deserve his forgiveness, she thought.

Scorpio cleared his throat and said, "But that was all a long time ago. I have forgotten it. You should too. I am with Aquarius now. So this", he pointed to them, "doesn't matter now".

Pisces didn't know why, but those words stung.

She cleared her eyes and looked up at Scorpio.

She was shocked.

His words were emotionless but his eyes told a different story. She saw pain. She saw anger and confusion. A single, small tear came down his cheek. She lifted her hand to wipe it away, but he grabbed it mid air and whispered, "Don't. Just.... don't".

Pisces nodded. She kept holding his hand. He pulled it away. She remained silent.

And then he did something that shocked Pisces to her core. He brushed her cheek, wiping away her tears. "It's okay. Don't worry about it. Like I said, it was a long time ago and turns out it's not your fault, you just didn't remember. So just forget it", he said. Pisces nodded. He smiled and said, "I'm gonna go eat, I'm famished".
He started to leave. Pisces just stood there. He turned around, looked at her and said, "You coming?". Pisces looked at him,surprised. She nodded and said, "Yeah. Sure. Let me just go get my jacket".

By the time they reached the diner, which was just around the corner, it was midnight. Pisces was hungry too, having not eaten since evening. She realized that her bag, which was full of her other clothes, was left at the gym. She scolded herself mentally.

Scorpio chuckled at her scowl. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing, I just left my bag at the gym".

"Yeah I noticed. I was wondering why you didn't change".

"Well why didn't you say anything!?".

"I thought it was some weird San Francisco thing to do".

"I was drinking my protein shake while you changed, so I didn't get time".

"Right".

They fell silent. Pisces could feel the awkwardness surrounding them. The waitress came and Scorpio ordered his food. Pancakes with a whole lot of butter and maple syrup, 2 eggs, sunny side up, and 4 pieces of bacon. Pisces chuckled and said, "I guess some things never change. I remember you used to order breakfast for dinner all the time". "Woah, woah, not all the time. But yeah I love breakfast dinners, what's wrong with that?" He asked, innocently. Pisces smiled and said, "Nothing at all".

Pisces decided to go Scorpio's way and have breakfast dessert for dinner. She ordered a large piece of apple pie with ice cream and hot coffee.

"So," Pisces started, "How's aqua?"

Scorpio nodded and said, "Yeah she's great. She, umm, she's busy. With her gallery". "Oh yeah, that new guy, Vector or something, his paintings. She told me about that. She even invited me to see the new collection before the opening", Pisces said. Scorpio looked surprised. "Since when have you been interested in paintings?" He asked. Pisces nodded, replying, "Since always".

"Huh. I didn't know that".

The food came. Scorpio picked up a fork and a knife and went to town with it. Seeing him, Pisces decided to go wild on her food too. He looked up and saw her eating like an animal, crumbs everywhere. He smiled and nodded in approval.

Within 10 minutes they were done. The waitress came and cleared the plates, giving them a bewildered look. Pisces sat back and started laughing. She couldn't stop. Scorpio joined in too. Pisces kept laughing and said "If Virgo were here, she would've said, ' No no no guys, don't eat it like that. Remember we are not animals' ".  Scorpio nodded and said, "And she would've wiggled her index finger in that annoying know-it-all way". They both laughed loudly, startling the waitress. They laughed even more.

Pisces wiped a tear from her eye and said, "Wow. Well. I should, uhh, I should get going. It's late". Scorpio nodded. He paid the bill and they got out of the diner. Scorpio looked at her and said, "Lets go, I'll drop you home".

"No that's okay, I'll go on my own".

"Don't be ridiculous, Pie. Its past midnight. Its dangerous out there. I'll drop you. No more discussion". Pisces nodded as he took her hand and led her to the car.

Pisces realized it was the first time Scorpio had called her 'pie'. She chuckled silently. Then she blushed. Stop it, she said to herself, just a while ago you were crying in front of him at the gym cause he said those hurtful things to you and now you are giggling over his nickname for you? Just stop it.

She sat in the front seat as he started the car. Soon after, they reached her home.

They just sat there in the car for a moment, in silence. Then they looked at each other, gazing into each other's eyes. She thought he looked so handsome. His dark eyes made her shake in her shoes. They were so intense. So mesmerizing. Like a black hole, she felt them pulling her towards him. She blinked and cleared her throat. "Good night. And uhh thanks for dinner. You were right, breakfast for dinner, always the right choice". Scorpio nodded and smiled, and said good night back.

She got out of the car and watched as his car turned around the block and disappeared. She just stood there for a second, taking in what had happened that night. And then at that moment she felt something.

At that moment, she missed him.
