Apparently my parents had secretly enrolled Latisha in school with me. Since we both wanted to be vets, we were enrolled in the same classes. I couldn't wait to show her to Heather. I'm sure Heather would love her attitude. Even if she didn't, I would choose Latisha over Heather anyway.
"We look so cute." She gushed and I agreed. Latisha and I had decided to match on her first day to hell. I wore a white crop top shirt that had the word best on it, printed in black. She had the same crop top except her word was bitches. I was sure we'd get in trouble for the shirts, so we decided to wear a cover up with it. I chose a beige cardigan and she chose a plaid blue and black jacket.
We both wore our favourite denim shorts and white converse. On multiple occasions we had dressed alike and people always knew we were best friends.
"Make sure cover up the shirt until we leave the house." I informed her, because I knew how crazy my parents could get at times. She nodded and followed my lead as we headed down the stairs.
"Good morning." We sung and received the morning back from my parents and Dylan. I saw Latisha eying Dylan down. I knew they had a crush on each other way back. But, now since Dylan got a hoe - I mean girlfriend, he was acting like he was something.
"Dylan will be dropping y'all to school today." My mom informed us as I got a yogurt and stored it in my bag. I wasn't a breakfast fan, I was more of a brunch fan. Latisha ate her toast, quickly and then drank some juice.
"Alright, let's go, because I have a presentation this morning. Bye ma and pa." We followed his lead and wished my parents a good day, before leaving.
Like usual Dylan was being overbearing and annoying as shit. So, when I tried to change the channel he would flip out and start an argument. Tisha sat in the back giggling at us and even adding in some input to shut us both up.
When we got to school, I jumped out the car. Tisha took her time getting out, because she wanted to admire my brother. Not my words, those were her words.
"Ready to slay?" She asked and I nodded as we walked in sync into the building. We went to the office first, where she got her schedule. When I got to my locker Heather stood there, twirling her red hair. She lit up when she saw me.
"Hi, beautiful. I got you some coffee." She smiled, before her eyes landed on Latisha. "Is this your best friend?" I nodded, taking the coffee out her hand and making sure to thank her.
"Latisha, this is Heather. Heather this is Latisha, my best friend." They shook each other's hand with a small smile.
"You guys are gorgeous and I'm loving the fact that you're matching." She gushed and we thanked her. "Anyway, I came to your locker to invite you - well, y'all to my barbeque on Saturday. We're going to be playing games like spin the bottle and what not. It's going to be a lot of fun."
I looked at Latisha who seemed to be really interested in the whole idea. "Sure, we'll be there." She answered for me and Heather smirked. "See you guys at gym." She waved us goodbye and I turned to Latisha.
"What? Your dad is going to let you go. He doesn't want you to be a loner in LA. Now, let's go to class, I'm eager to see the PE uniform." I rolled my eyes and made me way down the hall with Tisha hot on my trail. She was humming some song to herself.
When we entered the locker room it smelled like wet vagina and sweat. The uniforms looked tight and uncomfortable, so I was not ready for this. It was cliche and I knew immediately we would be playing dodgeball.
Quickly, I changed into my uniform and we headed to the gym. Zara had joined Oliver, but when she saw us she ran over. Zara had introduced herself to Latisha and they began to talk. Heather and I were talking about the barbeque she was having.
"Did you invite them?" She knew I was referring to Oliver, Dave and Beck.
"Yeah, they're my friends and I couldn't not invite them. Hopefully, you guys can be cordial." She hoped and I laughed to myself. Hell would have to freeze over if I was cordial with people who hated my guts for no apparent reason.
"I'm not sure I want to play spin the bottle though." Her eyes went wide as she looked at me as if I had lost my head. "Why not?"
If I were to tell her that I've never even had my first kiss she would probably laugh. I looked away, feeling my cheeks heat up at the sudden question. Yes, I was seventeen and haven't even had my first kiss. Latisha had her first kiss when she was fourteen and lost her virginity at sixteen. But, since my parents cared so much, I wasn't even allowed to have guy friends.
"Awe, that's so cute!" She gushed at my boring love life. "It's really nothing hard, just concentrate and be calm. Don't be a sloppy kisser, it's not cute."
"Thanks." I smiled and she nodded.
We talked a bit more until our teacher came and forced us to play dodgeball. I wasn't the best at the game, but I could pass for okay. On multiple occasions I was tempted to hit Beck and Dave with the ball. Dave looked as if he was aiming to hit me. Luckily, they hadn't hit me with the ball, because they were kicked out.
I knew I had to give this game my all if I didn't want to be hit with red balls. The smirk on Beck's face could tell anyone he wanted to burst me with the balls.
