After a long ass day at school, I had decided to go to Starbucks for something to drink. I wanted a green latte, because it was what I ordered back home. I was hoping it would make me feel like I was home again.

The art they had on the latte was actually cute. I don't know if they had a sun on it because it was still summer or if they were depressed summer was about to end. Either way it was going to get messed up when I drank the drink.

I had arrived to work on time and was lowkey nervous. I had to work with Beck and his family. The thing is, Beck never really told me why he didn't like me. Which, was rude and annoying on a certain level.

"Hey, Milan." Marilyn greeted me with a huge grin on her face. "You're actually really early. The kids should be here anytime soon. Just occupy yourself before they come." With that she disappeared behind the closed doors.

I went by the window and saw in the comfortable chair. I placed my latte on the ground beside me and pulled out my phone.

Ring!  Ring! Ring!

"You're interrupting me from my beauty rest." My best friend growled and I snickered at her. For as long as I knew her, she loved to sleep. However, I hated sleeping during the day time. I always felt as if I was missing out on something, ya know?

"Tell me why you can't call me at all tomorrow?" I cringed at the thought of now hearing from my best friend for a whole day.

"Girl, I told you ima be busy. But, after that you can talk to with my bad self all day." We fell into conversation with ease. She started complaining about her deadbeat father who never looked after her. I spent a lot of time with my parents, so I felt bad that she didn't spend any time with hers.

The door chimed, letting you know that someone had entered the shop. I looked up to see Beck and his siblings. He had a few drinks in his hand. When he noticed me he smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"I have to call you back, tonight." I told Latisha and she mumbled something before hanging up.

"No phones are allowed while you're working." He sighed, placing the drinks down. "I was told to occupy myself."

He held a blank expression on his face before he began to hand out the drinks. Of course, he didn't get me anything and I guess this made him feel superior. I held a little smirk on my face as I lifted up my drink from the floor and sipped from it.

The smirk from his face dropped and a grin appeared on my face. Lauren giggled to herself and Scott was too busy playing games to check for us.

"Let's get changed." Lauren said to me and I followed her to the back. She handed me this hideous orange shirt with brown khakis and brown boat shoes. The outfit was cute, but I hated the color orange.

Quickly, I changed and we headed back out front, to see the boys dressed exactly like us. Except, they wore long pants and not the ones like us.

"Damn, that ass." Scott cooed and I turned around, ready to slap him, but Lauren did it for me. "I'm just saying. "

"Mom!" Beck called out and within minutes she came through the door, smiling ear to ear. I swear this woman was so enthusiastic. I couldn't be this happy and smile all the damn time.

"Okay, children," she began. "First, you're going to clean the dogs and then restock the shelves. After you're done come to me for your next task." We nodded and headed off.

Those were the most excruciating hours ever. The only animal interaction I had was when we washed the dogs. Rather than that we were stacking shelves, sweeping the clean floors and washing windows. This woman was crazy if she thought I was going to do her work and not do what I wanted.

"You know, you could just quit and go back to getting your hair dyed." I rolled my eyes at the vain asshole.

"How about you leave me alone?" I hissed, grabbing my bag and getting ready to leave.

"Go back to Colorado."

"Why should I?" I questioned. He looked as if he was contemplating on saying something.

"I don't like you." His comment stung and somehow it had hurt me. But, it shouldn't because he was just a boy. A boy who didn't know me and a boy who I didn't like. I don't see why he hated me for no reason at all.

"You can take your opinion to hell with you."

Shock displayed his face as I left the store. At this moment I just wanted to go home and enjoy myself. I wanted to talk to my best friend and tell her about my horrible day at work and how this boy kept trying me.

When I reached home I looked at Dylan and went straight up the stairs. "No hi?" I rolled my eyes and headed to my room. I was not into his tactics today after what happened at school and work.

The bath I took calmed me down. It was nothing better than taking a hot bath on a bad day. It took all my troubles away and helped relieve my stress. I had to come out sooner or later, which irritated me.

I sat in my towel on my bed and went to instagram. I saw that Heather had requested to follow me and I accepted her request, also following her back.

"Milan, come open the door!" My mom called out for me and I groaned. I hated when she told me to do things when she was closer than I was.

I had to throw on a shirt and pants then run down to answer the door. My mood went from annoyed to grumpy in a matter of seconds. I grimaced as I opened the door, but the look on my face was replaced quickly.

"Latisha, what are you doing here?" I asked, then looking down at the bags she held in her hands.

"Well, my deadbeat daddy said he didn't care when I went. He gave enough money to buy a ticket, because he thought I was going to my mom. I told my mom I wanted to live with you and she said as long as I called once a day and texted her where I was going, who with and etcetera."

"Oh my gosh!" I squealed and hugged my best friend. "Thank you mom and dad!" I hugged them and then dragged Latisha up the stairs.
