For some reason when I arrived to school, with Latisha by my side. Beck stood at my locker with coffee in his hands, as he talked to some guy walking past.
"What did I do to be greeted with mocha?" I questioned, as I walked up to him. A bright smile had lit up on his face once he saw me.
"I'm still trying to show you how sorry I am." He grinned, handing me the cup of coffee. "I got extra whipcream, because I didn't know what you liked."
"Awe, thanks. My favorite is a green latte with cinnamon and extra whipcream." I sipped the coffee, before opening my locker.
"Oh, my parents are having this dinner tonight and I was told to tell you. But, I'm sure my dad told your dad at work today." He scratched the back of his head and I laughed.
"Yeah, he most likely did." I opened my locker and got what I needed to get before closing my locker, again. We began walking down the hall when we spotted Zane. Zane winked at me, before walking over to us.
Zane and Beck did their boyish handshake, before Zane planted a kiss on my cheek. Beck looked confused and the smile he had, had faltered just a tad. It made me wonder if he really did have feelings for me. But, he probably just didn't like how Zane ignored him.
Yeah, that's it.
"Are you guys dating?" He said the word with so much disgust. Zane nodded and began telling him about our date last night. Beck seemed uncomfortable and off edge after that. We walked down the hallway with only Zane talking and us listening. Well, - I was zoning off.
"Milan!" I turned my head and was glad to see Heather, Zara and Latisha calling me. "I'll see you guys later." I said, waving them goodbye.
"Hey, lover girl." Zara greeted me and I shook my head. "I feel like we haven't talked in forever!" I agreed with her because we barely talked.
"She's too busy taking men to check for us anymore." Latisha commented and I laughed. "Girl, it's really you."
"Anyway, do you guys want to hang out after school?" Heather asked. "Yeah." They chorused, but I shook my head.
"Did you guys forget that I have work and that means I have responsibilities." Latisha laughed, sucking her teeth.
"Girl, you didn't even want to go to work until after you and Beck made up," she rolled her eyes. "Speaking of the hunk, we saw him buy you coffee. He doesn't even buy Oliver coffee."
"Speaking of Oliver, why don't you guys hang out with her, if she's your best friend." I tried to change the conversation. But, the look Tisha gave me told me we were not done discussing this.
"We weren't really best friends. We were friends with her because we are friends with Beck." Zara shrugged and Heather nodded her head in agreement.
Before we could go deeper into the subject the bell had rung, signaling time for class. Zara and I headed to history and Tisha stalked off with Heather to chemistry. Zara and I walked in comfortable silence to class, with Oliver trailing in the front of us. She didn't realize we were behind her yet.
When we got into the class Zara and I sat in the front. Oliver sat behind us and in came strolling Dave and Beck. Beck waved at me and I returned the gesture. He went to the back before coming right back to the front and sitting next to me.
"Babe, come sit next to me." Whispered Oliver. Beck turned around and mumbled something to her, which resulted in her puffing like a baby.
"Okay, class! Settle down." Ms.Rigman spoke, opening her textbook. "As you all know, we always have a field trip for the whole senior grade. This time we're having it in September because December all the teachers are going on a trip."
"What's the point of the trip?" Called out one student from the back.
"It's for the biology teachers. They want to show the animals or something like that." If I'm correct I heard her mumble, "Which makes no sense."
"The permission slips will be handed out by the end of the day and the field trip is on Friday."
I looked over to Zara who was grinning like the Cheshire cat. "Isn't that going to be fun?" I nodded in agreement, running a hand through my purple hair.
"I hope they have animals that we can pet that aren't dangerous." She agreed with a squeal escaping her lips. "I know you see puppies all the time, but I really want to pet one and own one." I gushed.
"Maybe for your birthday I'll get you a puppy."
"I'd love you forever." She laughed, before turning to the board. I looked over at Beck and he turned his head quickly. "Stop staring." I giggled and he playfully rolled his eyes.
"I like what I'm looking at." He whispered to me with a smirk.
"Okay, children. Settle down." Ms.Rigman hissed, before starting her lecture on some war. I zoned out her class because I wasn't into history today. I just wanted this day to hurry up and zoom past because I wanted to go to sleep
Sleep was honestly the cure for anything. If you have stress, sleep. If you lost all your friends, sleep. If you're hungry and know you won't be eating anytime soon, sleep. If you have responsibilities, sleep. The only probably was that sleep was only a temporary remedy to relieve stress.
Not to mention I had work after school and I honestly wasn't feeling it like that. I mean it was just going to be me cleaning stuff that were already clean. But, now that Beck was my friend I guess it wouldn't be that bad. It would be way better than seeing him glare at me every time I looked at him.
His mood had changed completely. He went from growling at me to wanting to be my friend. From glaring to laughing. He even brought me coffee, which he never brought for his own damn girlfriend. It was honestly telling me that he wanted to change his ways.
