Song: Dammit - blink 182

McKenna

I shut off my alarm as it blared in my ear. It took a minute to actually wake up enough to sit up in my bed though. I looked to my left and saw Jeremy was still asleep in his bed. I looked to my right and saw Neil snoring away in his.

Its my first official day on the job. The night before, we all decided my first task would be to wake everyone up at 7 in the morning. I wasn't exactly excited about being up that early, especially when I went to bed at 3 a.m., but I could handle it.

I knew Neil was going to be the hardest to wake up, so I decided to try to wake him first.

"Neil." I whispered. "Neil." I repeated. He didn't budge. "Neil, wake the fuck up." I said, bringing my voice above a whisper. He grunted slightly. "Neil, this is my first task as your assistant. It would be great if you could make it easier on me and just wake up."

"I'm up." He groaned, his lips barely moving. His face remained smushed up against his pillow. I wasn't convinced he was actually awake.

"Prove it."

"I don't want to." He lifted his head a little.

"Get up."

"No."

"Alright. I'm going to go wake Jeremy up. If you're not sitting up in bed by the time he's awake I'm going to sit on your head and fart." He laughed slightly but didn't budge.

I went over to Jeremy. It seemed like he was already starting to stir. "Jeremy, its 7." I said softly. He groaned. "Wake up."

"I am awake." He mumbled into his pillow.

"Awake-awake or Neil-awake?" I asked, glancing over at Neil. He still hadn't moved.

"Somewhere in between." Jeremy rolled over to face me. "Good morning." He smiled tiredly.

"Good morning." I smiled back. Jeremy got up to go the bathroom and I went back over to Neil. "Neil this is your last chance."

"Before you sit on my face?" He moved his head to grin at me.

"Yes. Before I sit on your face." I smirked. "And fart."

He sighed and rubbed his eyes.

"Fine. I'm awake."

"Good boy." I patted his head. "How am I supposed to get in the other rooms to wake everyone up?" I asked neither of the boys in particular. Jeremy walked out of the bathroom.

"They gave us keys but they're not labeled." Jeremy said, pointing to a few cards that were on the table in the corner of the room.

I grabbed the keys and exited our room. I knew that Josh and Alex's room was right next to ours so I went to theirs first. I put in random keys until I got the right one. When I went into their room, they were still fast asleep.

"Alex, Josh, wakey wakey!" I sang. Neither of them showed any signs of waking up. "Alex, Josh." Still nothing. "Why is everyone in this band so hard to wake up?"

It took me about 15 minutes, but I finally got everyone awake and down to the hotel restaurant.

"So how did I do with my first job?" I asked after everyone had sat down for breakfast.

"You did a very good job waking everyone up." Kevin told me.

"Good. You guys are heavy sleepers." I commented.

After breakfast we went back to our hotel rooms to get our things. Then we checked out and hit the road, Texas bound.

I decided to take a nap since I had only gotten three or four hours of sleep and was really tired.

I woke up probably about an hour and a half later to the boys yelling and laughing. I crawled out of my bunk and went to the back lounge room where the noise was coming from. The guys were playing Mario Kart and we're getting quite competitive.

"Mikey!" Josh shouted excitedly, his eyes remaining glued to the tv.

"Nice to see you too." I chuckled.

"I have a job for you, since you're, you know, my assistant and all." He said, his eyebrows furrowing in concentration.

"Oh?" I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the door frame.

"Take Alex's controller away from him, he's winning and I don't like that."

"As you're also my assistant, I ask that you not do that." Alex added.

"You're our assistant also," Neil said nodding his head towards Kevin, "and we ask that you do do that."

"You just said do do." I chuckled.

"What are you, eleven?" Kevin laughed.

"Yes. On a scale of one to ten." I replied. They all laughed. I plopped myself between Jeremy and Kevin.

"FUCK YOU, MAN." Josh exclaimed as the game ended. Alex won.

"Don't get your panties in a twist, man." Alex told him, getting up and doing a victory dance.

"You want a turn?" Kevin offered me his controller.

The majority of the rest of the day was spent playing video games. I learned that I'm actually terrible at Mario Kart and also that these boys were very competetive. It looks like this is what my day was going to look like for the next few months, and I was quite alright with that.
