Sooooo sorry it's been so long. I've been feeling really uninspired lately, as well as busy with school and whatnot. BUT, Bad Vibrations has come out recently! What did you all think of it? I quite liked it. Bullfight and Exposed are definitely my favorite songs on it. Also, the blink 182 & ADTR tour CAME TO MY STATE AND I COULDN'T GO. I'm so distressed. Also, sorry its so short. Hopefully the next one (whenever that is) is longer. Anywho, enjoy.
"McKenna."
"Hmph."
"McKenna wake up." Neil's breath ticked my ear.
"That's not how this normally goes." I mumbled into the blanket. I took a long sigh before rolling over in bed to face Neil. "Do I have to wake up?"
"Yes," he grinned and kissed my nose. "Yes, you have to wake up. We've got a tour to start." The look on his face resembled that of an overly excited child. It made my stomach flip.
"Right, and remind me, who was that tour with?" I yawned.
"Oh, you know, only my heroes, the reason I do music, the band tattooed on my knuckles..." He took his hands on my sides to show me his knuckles.
"Oh yeah. That band." I grinned. "Have you even slept?"
"No. Too excited." He chuckled. "But its 5 am. We need to get going."
"Alright alright." I put my hands on his cheeks and pulled him closer to me for a kiss. "I'm hungry."
"I thought you might be." He smirked. "Breakfast is on the kitchen table."
"I love you." I kissed him again.
"I love you too." He grinned and kissed me one more time.
I pulled back the covers on this extremely comfortable bed and walked to my suitcase. I grabbed a hoodie and threw it over my bare torso. In the kitchen I found a styrofoam container with a stack of pancakes and some bacon, probably from Denny's. My love for that man grew stronger everyday.
It had been a while since the "incident" with Neil. We were better than ever, having been together for around 3 months now. The new album was finished, all we were waiting for was for the finishing touches to be added to it. Today we began the journey to California for the tour with blink-182. Life honestly could not get any better.
Neil sat down at the table next to me and we ate our pancakes in mostly silence. Occasionally he would mutter something about how excited he was, or I would mumble something about how good the pancakes were. We had just finished eating when my phone started ringing.
"Good morning." I answered.
"G'morning, McKenna. You and Neil up?" It was Jeremy.
"Neil hasn't been to sleep yet." I chuckled.
"Really? That excited? Wow." Jeremy sounded quite amused.
"You have no idea." I laughed at the expression on Neil's face as we talked about him.
"Okay, we're heading your way in about 20 minutes."
"We'll be ready."
"See ya soon."
"See ya." Click. "They'll be here in about 20 minutes according to Jer."
"My bags are all packed and sitting by the door. I didn't know what you needed or I would have gotten your bags too."
"Thank you, love." I leaned forward and kissed him. I never really got tired of that.
I went into our room and quickly gathered all of my things together. I did a room sweep probably three times to make sure I had everything. Once I was certain I had everything I needed, I brought all of my bags into the living room and set them down next to Neil's.
The bus picked us up about 10 minutes later. Neil was visibly shaking from excitement. Every few minutes he would say something like "how long is the drive?" "how long have we been driving?" "We're going to make it in time, right?"
"Neil, baby, you need sleep. Go lay down." I finally said. He started to object but ultimately agreed.
"Fine, but will you lay with me?" He pleaded with big, dark from lack of sleep, puppy dog eyes.
"Alright, let's go."
He settled into the bunk first and I crawled in after him. I snuggled into his chest and not even five minutes later he was snoring away. I chuckled, closed my eyes, and fell asleep as well.
California here we come.
