Shit Happens (A Day to Remember)

22- The Rock Show

"Kenna?" Neil whispered as he poked his head into my bunk. I rolled over to face him.

"Yes?" I smiled up at him.

"We're going out for drinks if you want to join us."

"Give me five minutes." I told him. He nodded, kissed my forehead, and left.

It had been a few days since the fiasco with Neil. I still struggled to force myself get out of bed unless I had work to do, but I was getting better at it. Neil and the guys were a big help too.

I finally got out of my bunk and went into the bathroom to brush my hair and make sure my makeup was good enough. I then grabbed my backpack and searched for a decent outfit. When I finished changing I went into the front lounge where apparently everyone had been waiting for me.

"Ready?" Neil asked, wrapping his arm around me.

"Ready." I smiled. He kissed my temple and we all filed out of the bus one by one. There was a bar about a block away so we decided to walk.

As we walked, the guys found themselves in a conversation about how we were playing in Florida tonight but no one's friends, family, or girlfriend's seemed to be able to make it.

"It just kinda sucks ass." Jeremy said. "Dani and I finally figure things out and I get the chance to see her and she's not able to make it."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." I spoke for the first time since we started walking. "You and Danielle worked things out?"

"Yes..." He said in a tone that he knew he was in trouble.

"And you didn't tell me?" I screeched.

"I...forgot..." He hung his head.

"We're talking about this later." I told him sternly. He laughed and nodded.

"But for real though, isn't kinda weird? No one's coming." Josh brought the conversation back.

"Can you keep a secret?" Kevin whispered to me. I raised an eyebrow but nodded. "They are actually coming. Everyone's waiting at the bar."

"Wait, really?" I whispered, hoping Neil was too involved in his conversation to hear.

"Yep. Friends, families, and girlfriends."

"Why are you the only who knows about it?"

"I've got only got friends in Florida, and they're already here." He shrugged. "So people recruited me to help set it up."

"Well this will be good."

As we approached the bar, Kevin opened the door and held it open for everyone, winking at me as we walked in and were greeted by a huge "SURPRISE."

Family members, friends, Danielle, Josh's girlfriend Anna, and Alex's girlfriend Mia were all there. There were so many people coming to greet us that I thought for a moment the entire bar was full of people for us.

"Okay, who was in on this?" Neil asked once everybody had been greeted, hugged, and introduced.

"It was all Kevin." Neil's mom said. "He organized everything."

"Aww, shucks. Mikey knew too though." Kevin pointed to me.

"As of 30 seconds ago." I laughed.

We all got drinks and scattered around the place. Some people went to do karaoke, others sat at the bar. I chose to sit at the bar. Kevin sat next to me and he seemed kind of upset.
