No one had time to react before the bullet was in the air. Adrien stood frozen in time his heartbeat thumping so loud he was sure everyone could hear it. Something hard hit him in the side and he fell down, hitting his head on the hard ground. Near his face, a lock of dark red hair fell. Cut off from the rest of the head of hair, he glanced up and saw something that made his heart stop for a moment.

Alyssa.

The bullet had grazed her cheek but nothing more. Her blue eyes were narrowed and bright. She glanced down at her little brother,

"A promise is a promise." She smiled, her eyes sparkling with a tear of joy. A growl from Gabriel caught her attention.

"But, how? You should be dead!" He exclaimed.

"So should you! Hawkmoth" she added lowly. Adrien noticed her chest heaving like she had been running for a long time. He could spot dirt smeared on her face, mixed with dried blood. Alyssa closed her eyes for a second, recalling the incident.

~~~~~ Alyssa's stomach caught in her throat as the ground rushed towards her face. But before she smashed into the pavement she felt the brush of feathers against her skin. It cradled her like how a mother holds her newborn. The soft feathers calmed her, it seemed familiar. It slowed her free fall and laid her gently on the ground. Alyssa glanced up, her body heavy with exhaustion. Blinding light hit her eyes but she made out a figure with golden hair like the sun. She had warm, kind eyes.
"You still have a promise to keep not just to me" she breathed. Her sweet breath wrapped Alyssa in a cocoon of tranquility. Before Alyssa could do anything she passed out from exhaustion. She woke up to dust and smoke hanging in the air like a fog. Coughing as she got to her feet the wreckage of the 90 story building lay around her. She stumbled over the rubble and near the edge of the dust cloud she saw a familiar beige jacket. It belonged to her father!
Glancing around she didn't see a body. What if he was alive? Her heart quickened, he would go back and find Adrien and Marinette and finish what he started not being as kind this time. Alyssa sprung into action and ran out of the destroyed area. There was a small group of people walking by, construction workers were already cleaning it up. Alyssa ran straight past them, coming from ground zero. Her body still hadn't fully recovered but she had no time to waste. Sprinting through the streets she found a directory.
"New York?!" She exclaimed. The toll of a ships horn startled her. Before her she saw a huge American Navy vessel, about to leave port. She raced down the dock and ran into a sailor.
"Whoa there young lady, where do you think you're going?" He asked,
"Where is this ship headed to?" She asked frantically.
"We're going to northern France then on to England." He said confused, she grabbed his collar,
"I have to get on this ship. I was brought here from France against my will! I have to get back there or my family could be in danger-"
"I'm sorry but I can't do tha-" he reasoned,
"Please! My brother will die if I don't get to him soon!" Alyssa begged. The sailor sighed and glanced around, no one was there except for some civilians.
"Fine, but you must stay silent no one can know you're here." He said quietly. Alyssa nodded her agreement and followed him inside the ship. The quarters were hot and uncomfortably small. It was a little under a week until they hit land at France. Alyssa sneaked away and hopped onto a subway that was headed for Paris. On the subway she heard that there was a ceremony in Paris for the safe return of Chat Noir and Ladybug. Alyssa's sense of urgency returned more fervently this time.
When the subway finally got to the outskirts of Paris, Alyssa raced out of the station towards the Seine river. Her lungs ached and her leg muscles burned. She came up behind the speakers and it took her a moment to realize what was happening, she had no idea how long it had been since she last saw Adrien and Marinette. The contorted face of Gabriel Agreste made Alyssa spring into action.
She pushed through the crowd behind the podium and hit Adrien with her shoulder. She skidded to a halt, feeling the bullet graze her cheek.~~~~~
Adrien still laid wide eyed on the ground, staring up at his older sister. His hands were shaking with fear and excitement.
"Now everyone has seen who you really are Gabriel. Have fun in prison." Alyssa retorted, Gabriel clenched his jaw.
"You bitch!" He shrieked and cocked the gun again, Alyssa grinned,
"Pippa! Shell up!" She changed and her miraculous took effect. Gabriel pulled the trigger eight times in a row, spraying bullets towards Alyssa, Adrien, and Marinette. "Time Scratch" Alyssa whispered closing her eyes, concentrating. A bright flash blinded everyone in the immediate area.
Alyssa opened her eyes to see the bullets clearly moving through the air. She glanced around at everyone frozen in time. She took the tip of her parasol and tapped each bullet to throw it off course. When time resumed the bullets screamed past the three miraculous users.
Gabriel blinked, confused, they should have killed all three kids or at least hit them in their vital organs. He growled under his breath, glaring at his daughter who returned his fierce gaze.
"I guess we'll have to do this the hard way." He said almost in a purr like tone. In a moment his miraculous activated. Alyssa gripped her parasol tightly, bending her knee's. She had five minutes before she returned to normal. Gabriel stood tall in front of her, his cane being held delicately in his left hand. Alyssa ran at him, hoping to use her agility to out speed her father.
She slid under his legs catching one ankle with the curved end of her umbrella, pulling him to the ground.
Four minutes.
Next Alyssa turned and went to directly attack Gabriel but he was already on his feet. He hit Alyssa in the side, pressing the end of the cane into her kidneys. Sharp pain flooded over her already exhausted body and she fell.
Three minutes.
Alyssa had one second to roll out of the way. She had no time to stand up, all she could do was barely miss Gabriel's attacks. His foot landed on her hand, pining her to one spot. He put all of his weight on her wrist, crushing the bone and forcing her fingers to release her parasol.
Two minutes.
Alyssa screamed out in pain, she saw her father's triumphant smirk at her pain and suffering.
"Say hello to your mother for me" he said quietly so only Alyssa could hear him. Alyssa glared up at him, her striking blue eyes ablaze,
"You dare-" before she could finish her sentence Gabriel took the handle of his cane and hit it across Alyssa's temple, smashing her head into the ground so hard she didn't pick her head back up.
One minute.
