I lock the door behind me to remove any temptation my sister might have to come and "talk". It's only 4:30 so I'll take a nap and then tackle this homework. I check my phone to see if Niall has text or called me explaining his odd behavior, but to my expectations...nothing.

I'm awakened by a knock at my door. "What?" I groan. "Brie open the door." Camryn says. "What do you want?" I ask in annoyance. The lock on my door starts to turn and Camryn walks in. "What the hell?"  "I locked it for a reason." I state. "You must have forgotten you were never tall enough to reach the key at the top of the door." she says with a laugh. My expression is stale. "Get up! Let's go out." she says. "What? I have homework to do." I say rolling over. How can she have the nerve to ask me to go anywhere with her? She walks over and tugs at my arm. "Come onnnn!" she begs "Ugh. Okay, okay. I'll meet you downstairs." I reply. "You have 5 minutes." she chimes, walking out. I look at the clock to see that it's 7:30. That nap was much longer then intended. I check my phone in hopes that I got a text or call from Niall...but only 1 from Kendall. "Are you feeling any better?" it reads. I put my phone in my pocket, put on my shoes and head downstairs.

Camryn goes on and on about her life in college during our drive to the mall. It takes all of me not to open the car door and roll onto the interstate. Anything is better then hearing her talk. "Have you met any boys yet?" she asks, breaking me from my thoughts. "Nope." I reply. "Aw, you're such a cute girl. There's no one that catches your eye?" she inquires. I instantly think of Niall. He's the only guy that I ever talk to really..besides Aspen. But he's my best friend. Nothing more, nothing less. "No." I state. She remains silent as we pull into the parking lot.

We walk into the mall and boys are looking at my sister like she's the prettiest girl in the world. The usual. I ignore the comments the boys make toward her and check my phone. 1 new message. "You can't ignore me forever, Brielle. See you tomorrow." It's from that number again. Who is this? I just won't reply. Ignoring it is probably for the best. I put my phone away and notice the Forever 21 store. "Hey, I'm going to go in here alright?" I announce. "Okay, it's 8:10. Meet me in the food court by 9:30 so we can head home. If I call you, answer. If I text you, reply." she says sternly. I forgot how protective she was. "Gosh, okay mom." I say rolling my eyes. She laughs and walks off.

I need to update my wardrobe. I have "nice" clothes, I just want...something different. I find a few items that are things I wouldn't imagine of wearing, and start walking to the register. "Niall, stop!" a girl shrieks jokingly. "This can not be happening". I regretfully look around the store only to see Niall and Emily in the back. I have to get out of here. I attempt to quickly check out my items, but the employee is trying to make conversation. I don't have time for this. "Have a great day!" she says. I nod and smile, grabbing my bag and walking towards the exit. I look to see Emily and Niall holding hands, playfully fighting, which leads to a kiss. My stomach drops. I pick up my pace, keeping my eyes on both Niall and Emily. I'm staring way too hard and I crash right into a Mannequin, then I trip, falling to the ground. "This can NOT be happening right now." my subconscious screams. The Mannequin falls over knocking down four racks of clothing, like dominos. Okay...it's not as bad as I think. I just need to get up and leave.

Wrong.

I stand up to see everyone in the store staring at me. I pick up my bag trying to ignore the stares. It wasn't until Emily started laughing that I remembered Niall was with her. As my gaze meets his, my eyes start to sting. I refuse to let him see me cry, no matter how embarrassed I am. I run out of the store in desperate need of air. I make it to the exit of the mall and I'm trying to catch my breath outside, as the cold air hits my face. Someone grabs my arm, and I quickly wipe away any tears before turning around. Niall's eyes stare into mine, causing me to look away. "What Niall?" my voice trembles. "Brie, are you okay?" he asks sincerely. He's never talked to me like this before. I look at him, not sure what to say. "..Uh yeah, I'm fine." I manage to say. "I'm really sorry about Emily. She shouldn't have laughed." he says. Ugh. Emily. The amount of embarrassment returns immediately, causing my cheeks to flush. "Brielle..." he says softly. He nevecalls me Brielle. Niall touches my cheek with the back of his hand as I look at the ground. "Hey." he says holding my chin up. "It'll be okay, alright?" I stay silent, not sure what to say. Niall suddenly pulls me into him, hugging me tightly. I don't want to let go. I find myself clinching tighter to his white t-shirt. He smells like Axe cologne. Like always. After what seems like forever, Niall finally lets go of me, reassuring me with his smile.

My gaze leaves his as Emily comes storming out the mall, heading my way. "Great."
