The pain had never been this horrid before, in fact the pain was nothing compare to this. It felt as though your lungs were constricting, as though there was a small flame inside the captivity of your ribs, slowly devouring the air you so desperately needed. A gasp tore past your lips as you struggled desperately to breath but it seemed imposible, you had forgotten how to. Clutching your throat, you choked, gagged, whimpered as the searing pain split you in two.
Suddenly, a pair of hands began to roll their way up your spine, easing your pain. Ciel's lips came to a gentle stop upon your shoulder, his fingers tracing delicate circles along your body in an attempt to calm you down. "Shh, it's okay," his words were soft, sweet, silky smooth, in other words they were beautiful. He embraced you, kissed your temple and allowed your body to tremble against his own. Slowly your breathing became leveled and his hands delved themselves into your silky (h/l) hair.
You pressed your palm to your heart now, feeling it thrust itself against your chest, begging to escape the confinements of your body.
You tilted your head back, savouring each taste of air that you had struggled to suck in before. The Earl brought you closer, his mismatched blue and violet orbs stared at you worriedly, it was not often that he expressed emotions such as these.
In the few years he had been your lover, you had only seen his break down on a very rare occasion, emotion was something Ciel struggled with showing his true feelings, in fact he was almost unreadable to anyone but you. You understood every action, every crease of the forehead, every scowl, every little thing this boy did served as another word printed onto a previously blank page. "Are you alright?" He asked, genuine concern lacing his words.
Your fingers caressed his jaw line, resting upon his cheeks, the navette pressed closer to your touch whilst you struggled to find words.
"I'm fine, I just need some more rest," Ciel seemed unconvinced as he placed the back of his hand against your forehead in which was warm. You pressed a kiss to his lips, watching as his discontent slowly melted away, his body relaxing as though you were a serum in which loosened his muscles.
"Don't strain yourself," he murmured as he broke the kiss, resting his head back on the pillow, he then grasped your hand, tugged you down and wrapped his arms around you, placed one last kiss upon your skin and closed his eyes.
You didn't sleep that night.
