When morning came, Ciel was not exactly sure what he expected. His arms, like always, were wrapped around your form, once filled with warmth, now bitterly cold. He ceased to move for a while, simply took in the fact that he couldn't hear your breath and that only one heartbeat thudded in the empty room.

He tried to squeeze his eyes closed, to sink back into the world of dreams where you sat in the garden with a smile and you were so, so alive. You were breathing, laughing and calling his name so cheerfully that he could almost hear it echo through the household. He tried to imagine your touch on his cheek and your lips on his own but no one stirred, not him.

And most certainly not you.

Unable to hold back the searing burn in his throat, the boy, feeble and terrified choked out a pathetic call of your name but there was no answer. Nor would there ever be.

"(Y/N)," he whispered, his breath brushing against the still body of his lover, his world, his absolute everything.

"Please answer me..."

He tightened his grip around your fragile body, thin and limp. He burried his face into the cold crook of your neck and he let out all the pain and the fear and soon enough his wails were loud enough to wake the household, to wake the world and rattle the underworld, to shriek through the heavens and curse them for their cruelty.

"(Y/N)!" He whined, shaking your empty vessel and calling the (number) letter word repeatedly, over and over again.

"Don't you do this to me!!! Please answer me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me! I need you, I need you!!! (Y/N) god damn it, I need you! Please, I love you, you can't do this to me-"

And even when the room filled up with the worrisome faces of the caring staff and the air filled with dread, even when Sebastian tried to pry the boy away, he still continued to call your name as though he believed that you would hear him and wake up.

"(Y/N)!!!" He screeched, thrashing in the grib of his butler as the others hurried to cover your body, tears all falling freely down their cheeks.

"Don't you touch her! Don't touch her! No! Fuuuckkk! Don't! Please don't! (Y/N)!!! (Y/N)!!! No!"

Carefully, they carried your body away from the boy who you had held mere days ago and Ciel, in his utter despair fell to his knees  as he cried out to the world above, clawing at his hair as raged against the fact that he had just lost the one true love of his life- that's you, his shining star, and only soul mate, was gone.

But...

If he was truly honest.

You were gone far before he lost you.
