Ciel dug his head into his hand, his breath uneven as he struggled to withstand the ache in his heart. Yesterday you had an 'attack' as the doctor had called it and although Ciel was not exactly sure what the old man meant by that he could not help but to worry. You had yet to wake up and your skin had become a pasty white.
Sebastian eyed his master with a raised brow, he could see it in the way that Ciel chewed at the ends of his nails that although this would most likely make his soul even more absurdly delicious and it would not doubt damage his heart as well as send him into grief like it was already. Sebastian could see in the way that you breathed and the weak way that you rolled your head that this was a sickness you would not overcome and though Ciel pushed away the posibility of losing you. Sebastian knew that he would have to come to terms with it eventually.
"My lord-"
"Don't. Don't even say it Sebastian." The boy hissed, his one visible eye narrowed and sparking with an emotion that almost made the stoic demon cringe.
"I was just going to say that you should check on her. She will probably wake up soon," the demon murmured, watching as the boy stood up, his chair sliding back with a sickening scraping sound before quickly heading out of the room.
With heavy steps the navy haired boy walked through the hall, he stopped once at his door. His head hung and his lower lip trembled, his hand sat on the knob but he didn't turned it. Instead, he rested his head against the spine wood and he struggled to keep himself together. You were so sick, everything about you was dying, and Ciel knew it. Your smile had long ago been becoming dull and your eyes, they were the biggest change. Ciel had seen it weeks before your first attack, the way you seemed to be everywhere else but in the present moment.
This had happened once before when he was with you, it was small compared to what you were going through right now and the two of you had even laughed it off. But, there was no laughing about this because he doubted that in the end he would have you there to laugh about it.
Swallowing thickly he finally entered the room, he watched as your head fell to the side; eyes half lidded as though they were too heavy to hold open. A broken smile left your lips and he wanted to sob but instead held it in and slowly approached you.
You reached out a hand and he swiftly took it into his own, your fingers naturally entwining as he got on his knees beside the large bed.
You were a naturally thin person but he could see that the lack of food was wearing you down, you honestly hadn't eaten much in the last few weeks; blaming in on your 'allergies'.
"Are you hungry?"
You shook your head and swallowed despite there being no moisture to swallow.
"Ciel?"
"Yes?" He tightened his grip around your slender fingers.
Your head tilted back to stare at the ceiling and Ciel braced himself for a question he didn't have the answer too.
"I want to go outside."
Ciel raised his brow, bit his lip and then shook his head. "The doctor said you should stay in bed."
"But-"
"Please, (Y/N). W-when you get better we'll go outside, I promise."
You pulled your hand from his own and rolled onto your side, staring out the window as you breathed out heavily. Ciel turned his gaze to the ground before getting to his feet, he couldn't think anything to say and so he quickly left the room, the silence eating away at all that he was. Due to being focussed on his own thoughts Ciel almost didn't catch your words and when he realised what they were, he wished he hadn't.
"Stupid. I'm not going to get better."
