My heart jolted against my chest as i regained consciousness, i staggered backwards slamming my head onto what seemed to be a brick wall, something was wrong, very wrong i couldn't see anything, an emotion consumed my body, an emotion i hadn't felt for centuries, fear.

Light flooded the small room i was in, causing me to cringe away from the brightness. A familiar figure emerged from a door that i didn't even know was there, she hadn't changed her outfit, which lead me to believe i wasn't knocked out for more than a day, which was a good sign.

" Its about time that you woke up." She said as she pulled a small leather chair out from the corner and placed it in front of me.

" Whats wrong with me? Why cant i see through the darkness, what have you done to me?"

" Well," she spoke as she sat down on the chair " the only thing I have done is inject you with a special little herb, bring you to a witch, and bring you to this wonderful little room and chain you up."

Chain me up? I glanced down only to see steel shackles around my wrists chaining me to the wall, how could i not have noticed?

" That explains why I'm unable to see in the dark, but why are you doing this why haven't you already killed me?"

She smiled revealing her perfect, pearly white teeth.

"Well you see my friend," a low hiss escaped from my throat  " I am not allowed to kill you."

****************

Had she really just said that? A hunter not being allowed to kill a vampire, the only time that had happened was when Graying Marcellio's entire clan had been killed and he was the only one who was left in the famous clan, of Lodestar, so they needed him to make sure the clan would survive, but unfortunately he was unable to deal with the death of all of his family, and ended his own life, making the clan Lodestar extinct.

My  heart seemed to drop to my stomach, " Is my family?"

" Yes, we believe you are the only one left." she brutally said, her tone soft but sharp.

"Who?"

" Well Blair that's what we need your help to find out." She said as she tossed me a small golden key.

I slid the key into the lock on the shackles that bounded me to the wall, they came off with a small but satisfying click. I slowly stood and propped myself up against the stone cold brick wall, unsure if she was going to stab me for standing, as she had in the woods.

" So im going to start off by asking you some questions about your self." she said as she took a small piece of paper from her coat pocket, i assumed to take notes.

" Why were you in the woods last night with a knife in your chest?"

"Well that's quite obvious i was trying to end myself in a painful matter."

"Why?" she asked, her blue eyes sparking with curiosity.

" Well as you know each member of a clan has a job, a purpose, and mine was to keep every one in my family out of harms way, even if it meant putting myself in danger, but i failed, my brother Mason, was kidnapped and tortured to death last week. It was my fault i was supposed to be with him that night, i was supposed to meet him in the woods outside of Harmony to scan the area for werewolves, but he never showed up."  i said as pain spread through out my body, why didn't i go and look for him, i should have known something was not right.

"Tortured, to death?" she asked, i could tell by her face that she was beyond horrified, for she knew it took a very long and painful time to tortured a vampire to death.
