The fuck is his problem? I shrugged it off and walked to the car. Maybe he needs some space. I drove the long way back to my apartment.

I unlocked the door and walked in. I smiled as I looked around. I missed my place. I sat down and turned the tv on. My phone vibrated, I pulled it out of my pocket and slid my finger across the screen. I had a text.

Chris (3:38 a.m): Where you at?

I hesitated for a minute. I bit my lip, wondering if I should reply or not.

Me (3:43 a.m): Home

Chris (3:45 a.m): 😕 Why?

Chris (3:49 a.m): Don't answer that. I'm being nosey. Are you free tomorrow? Well later on today lol. I have a few samples I would like to play for you.

Me (4:00 a.m): Sure. Be at the studio on 83rd by Milano's at about 7pm. Room 221.

I tossed my phone onto the table before going to bed. I laid in bed but couldn't fall asleep. Chance was on my mind. I didn't do anything wrong, so why did he flip like that? Thoughts raced through my head. Before I knew it, I was sleep.

Chance

I walked into Kehlani's apartment around 9am. I laid on the couch and watched tv. I couldn't sit still. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed some chips. I looked into her room and she was still asleep. I went back to the living room. The light from her phone caught my attention. I glanced over at it and I wasn't surprised.

"Already texting the nigga." I shook my head. I grabbed my keys and left.

I sat on the beach for a while watching the waves roll in. Constant thoughts rushing through my head. Am I overreacting? Nah, I know what I saw. That conversation was too friendly.

I dusted the sand off of my shorts and got back in my car. I ended up in the parking lot of the studio.

"Hello Mr. Bennett. Solana is in the studio already." The receptionist smiled.

I mentally groaned. "Actually, is there any way I can get a different studio today? I need to work alone on something."

"I can check." She looked at the computer. "The only open studio we have at the moment is 221."

"Perfect." I walked over to the elevator

I plugged my phone in and pulled a few songs from my playlist.

"I should really finish this Thotty song." I paused "Nah. I'ma finish up Yolo."

I walked into the booth and added another verse and some ad-libs. Once I finished, I went back and made the clean version for radio stations. I put the songs onto discs and put them into my backpack.

The door opened as I was turning everything off.

I laughed. "This is hilarious." I shook my head "This is who you gon be with now?" I looked at Kehlani.

"Hello?! Say something." I stepped closer to her

"Aye, chill out. It's not that serious." Chris placed his hand in front of me.

I looked down at his hand then up at him. "This shit is between me and my girl. You can moonwalk yo ass outta here bruh."

"You dont have to talk to her like that. That's all I'm saying. Have some respect."

"Respect? You are the last motherfucker to be telling me about respecting women. I guess you and Rihanna was role playing as Ike and Tina?" I smirked

Kehlani

I looked between the both of them. After the comment Chance made,  Chris attempted to punch him. I stepped back and watched them fight. I should be stopping it but oh well.

They fought for about 5 minutes before I decided to break it up.

"Ok! Ok!" I pulled Chance by his shirt. "That's enough."

Chance snatched his shirt out of my grip. He grabbed his backpack and left without saying anything. I sighed and sat in one of the swivel chairs.

"Can we do this another day?" I looked at Chris and he nodded.

I walked out to the parking lot and got into my car. I drove back to my place. Chance was sitting in his car. I went over and opened his door.

"Come on. Let me clean you up." I grabbed his hand and went to my apartment.

Once we made it to my bathroom, I got a wet washcloth and gently cleaned his face off. I grabbed my first aid kit from under the sink and place a bandaid on the cut under his eye.

I ran my hand down the side of his face. "Whats wrong?"

"I dont want to lose you."

I smiled. "I love you Chancelor Bennett. You have my heart." I laughed "I'm not going anywhere."

"So why were you texting him?"

I pulled my phone out. "It's just business baby." I showed him the messages "Stop stressing. I'm not going anywhere, I promise."
