I winced as the door of my apartment slammed in my face
My roommate had said 'girl' and 'leave' then shoved me out.
I sighed.
My laptop was still in there. All I had was the clothes on my back, which was just a long sleeve shirt, Adidas pants and the Timberlands on my feet.
I decided to go for a run outside.
Yes, I am stupid. Who goes for a run outside in minus ten-degree weather? Well me apparently.
You didn't come to the coffee shop earlier and since I didn't have your number or dorm room I let it be.
My breaths came in white clouds as I turned and ran to the bridge.
I stopped, there was someone on the bridge. Looking down like they were ready to jump.
The river below has frozen over, falling into a frozen lake without anyone to pull you out could kill you.
I slowly stepped closer. I swore I could spot your blonde hair anywhere.
"Hey!" I yelled.
You turned around so quickly that you lost your footing and fell.
I ran to the edge of the bridge and jumped in after you.
---
With a breath of relief, I step off the train.
It isn't even my stop but as soon as I spotted a poster of your book I couldn't get off fast enough.
Bad mistake.
I get off at the bridge. If I look back I could see the outline of the damn thing.
I jump from foot to foot. If the next train doesn't come soon I'll be reduced to nothing but a pile of tears.
Thank God another train appears.
I step on and force myself to never look at posters again.
