What Happened After We Left.

Kendall POV

Blackness. That's all I could see. I didn't know what was happening. We were being taken out of Central America and into the USA. I don't know why not even Quinn knows. After we were taken from Leo they took us to a new institute to be experimented on but then something happened. They got a call one day and that call was the reason we are now where we are. I open my eyes and see I'm in a van, it's dark but I can still see. I see Quinn sleeping next to me like her life depended on it, which it kinda does.

When I fist met her it was the day after they experimented on us. That day we learned how we ended up there in that place. They only targeted people visiting Central America like on vacation, like I was. They will kill anyone that's with you, that's what they did to my mom and dad. Then they take you and experiment. After I met Quinn we found out they did the same thing to her parents and her older brother. The reason they told her about why they didn't take him too was because he got sick and they couldn't use him. We became the only family we each had from that point on. That is.... Until we met Leo.

We miss him so much. He tried to fight for us, he tried to make us stay. We didn't want to leave him. As we were being dragged out we heard a gun shot and hoped he was still alive. When we got to the new institute they told they killed him and showed us a picture of his motionless body. I cried myself to sleep that night and Quinn had nightmares about it for two weeks. We both felt terrible knowing that he died for us, trying to protect us.

I was taken out of my thoughts when Quinn stirred awake. "Hey." I said softly smiling at her. "How you feeling?" When we met Leo Quinn was six. Her birthday has passed and now she's seven. I tried to make her birthday good for her as best I could but she told me 'I want dad here too. I miss him.' We still haven't gotten over what they did to him.

"I'm okay momma." She said with a smile. "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay."

We were about to start talking more when the van stopped. Quinn inched over till she was right beside me. Then the darkness of night came in with two people standing in the doorway. Pablo and Gabriel. Two of the jerks that torture us, however Pablo is one of the heads of the operation. They were assigned to bring us to this place I still have no idea where.

"Rise and shine señoritas." Pablo said. "Welcome to the big apple."

The big apple? Oh. This is the place were Leo lived. He told us great stories about what he and his family been through here and all of their adventures. I don't know if they know about a Leonardo's death or not but I feel so bad for being one of the reasons he was shot. I can never forgive myself.

"Did you hear that? We are in dads home." I heard Quinn tell me in my head. She has gotten better at talking to people in their minds and somewhat better at reading them but we are getting there. She is the master at reading emotions though so you can't hide them from her.

I looked at her and gave her a small smile. To the two guards its me trying to comfort her but to her she knows I heard her. Once we were out of the car we were brought inside some tall building and taken to the second highest floor. I still don't know what's going on. Once we reached the floor I noticed a group of what looked like soldiers or ninja's standing behind this one women who looked like the leader.

"Ah. Mistress Kari. Good to finally meet you in person." Pablo said. "As you see I have what you asked for. I will hand them over to you as long as I get my payment."

Now I get it. He wants to sell us to work for this women. She must be paying a lot for him to actually go threw with this.

"Not so fast." She yelled at him in a Japanese accent. Leonardo told us stories about Japan too. I wish we could have seen it with him. "You expect me to believe that an 18 year old girl and what seems to be a 6 or 7 year old can do what you told me they could? I need proof."

"Alright. Let's start with the oldest. Señorita Kendall." Gabriel said pushing me away from Quinn up in the middle.

"You see Kendall here has two elemental powers." Pablo said. 'Ya and one you have no idea about.' I said in my head. "She can control and create water and control earth. It is truly useful if you want to drown your enemies without being near any water or protect ourself with a shield coming out of the ground. Since we are inside and I think you don't want your windows broken, I recommend only doing the water. Demonstrate."

I quickly created water coming out of my hands. I moved them around in elegant patterns to make beautiful shapes. I then turned one into an arrow and shot it at the wall and it stayed there for a while till the water came back. Once I was done I was almost panting. I haven't done that much of my power before but it felt good.

I was then yanked back by Pablo as Gabriel talked. "And now the child."

Quinn POV

As mom/ Kendall was using her powers I couldn't believe how powerful she was and we didn't know it. I wonder if I'm that powerful. Well let's just find out. I was taken out of my thoughts as they pushed me forward and Pablo started talking.

"This is señorita Quinn. And she also has two elemental powers. She can control and create fire and wind/air. Now she will do both of hers but let me say this to her." He then looked at me. "Don't you think about doing anything funny or there will be extremely consequential punishments. Now demonstrate."

I then use my wind powers to blow some of the practice dummies that were up here to the ground and the shot fire balls and arrows at the wall but also using air to make sure the fire didn't spread. When I was done I was panting. I now see why mom was so tired. I was then tanked back by the guards and the lady Kari started talking.

"They will make good additions to my clan. Those powers will destroy my enemies and help us win. And the little one will be the big surprise. No one would expect a small little girl to do a lot of damage. You have your self a deal." She snapped her fingers and one of her ninja's brought over two cases full of money and have them to Pablo and Gabriel. Wow. He wanted a lot of money.

Pablo only smiled at her. "Do with them as you please." And they left to fit back to their homes leaving us here.

I don't know whether or not to be terrified or great full. So I decided to be Both. She took us done a corridor and opened up a door which led to a small room with two matts on the ground. Well it's still better that the institute.

"I heard you two barely leave each other's side so you two have to share this room." Kari said.

Once we walked in she slammed the door in us and it made me jump. We laid down on our matts after we moved them closer together. I couldn't sleep though. I just kept tossing and turning. I couldn't stop thinking about being in New York. Dads home. I miss Leo so much and ever since that day I could never stop thinking about him. He died trying to protect me and mom and I wish he was still here.

"Hey momma?" I asked facing her.

"What?"

"Can.... Can you sing that song Leo sang to us everything we had a bad dream or couldn't sleep?"

She smiled and nodded and started singing the song that I love so much.

I hear the wind

I didn't get to hear the rest of it because I was out like a light.

Kendall POV

Before I could finish the song I noticed she was already asleep. I'm glad she asked me to sing it because I think we both needed the heat it. My eyes soon felt droopy and the last image that flew around in my head was Leo, and how much we love him. And I know he loves us too.
