"Winston, you have a friend now," the policemen said as he threw me into a cell next to his.
"Hey! Careful please! I wasn't even doing anything wrong! It was trying to stop animal and child abuse!" I try to persuade the police.

"Whatever," he mutters and locks my cell door.

I hear the guy next to me chuckle.

"You think this is funny? Or do you think child and animal abuse is funny?" I whisper-yell at him.

"No, no, of course not. I'm totally against that. It's just funny how we both got in here for different reasons," he says nonchalantly with a smug smile.

"Well how did you get in here?" I ask.

"Try'n to steal a few things but got caught."

"Well that's fantastic," I say sarcastically.

He smiles a genuine smile. I smile back at him. Maybe we'll get to know each other while we're in here.
