"Ok, see ya later Mer," I hear Pony, my twin, say as he walks out the door. I give him a small wave as I sit back and take a sip of my tea. After a few minutes I pick my book back up and then hear the door open. I take a glance and see Johnny Cade walk in. I smile at him.
"Hey America. How are you?" He asks shyly without meet my eyes. I notice he's fiddling with the end of his jacket.
"I'm alright. You?"
"Ugh...I'm all right, I guess. Um, but I was wondering if you... might...want to get ice cream in a few?" He asks. His ears reddening as he speaks.
I smile at the idea. I've also had a crush on him. "Sure, I'd love to."

"How do you like it?" He asks as I taste my ice cream.
"Delicious," I reply. I'm having such a great time with him.
"Hey, America?"
"Yeah?"
"Would you be my girl?"
I look in his eyes. They're full of hope. I smile at him.
"How could I say no?"
