Ophelia was on her way to Michael's on a Saturday afternoon so they could finish their paper on Stephen King. When Ophelia's mom heard that her daughter was paired up with the Michael Clifford she acted like a fangirl, she insisted that he should come to their house and Ophelia had to make up a dumb excuse to why he couldn't but in reality she wanted her mom as far away from Michael as possible.

The curly haired girl reached the address Michael and opened the door to the apartment  building. Ophelia knew Michael didn't have tons of money but she didn't care, she wasn't friends with him or anyone because of their money. After a short elevator ride, Ophelia stopped in front of a dark brown door on the fourth floor. The girl was a bit nervous about knocking, what if Michael's mom opened the door? What was Ophelia supposed to do? She was great with parents, always putting up her good girl act and all but these were Michael's parents. Then she realized there was reason to be nervous, so what they were Michael's parents? Michael is just a friend, his parents shouldn't matter.

After scolding herself for acting so stupid she knocked three times on the door. A few seconds later, steps were heard and the girl held her breath. The door was opened and Michael stood behind it. "Hi." He timidly said, Ophelia could notice that he was a bit ashamed of his house.

"Hey there." She smiled brightly and kissed his cheek, on the exact same place as before, so so close to his lips and it was driving Michael. She looked around when Michael fully opened the door, the place was a cute, it had a home-y feeling all around. "I love it."

Michael rolled his eyes and walked to the black couch placed on the living room. "You don't have to pretend, you know? I know it's shitty, and we don't-"

"Michael, I'm not pretending, I love it. I don't care if you don't live in a goddamn mansion," Ophelia sat close to Michael and looked him dead in the eye. "I'm your friend for you not because of how much money you have." Friend, the word didn't sound right to describe them and Ophelia felt as Michael flinched slightly to the sound of the word friends. Ophelia and Michael were close to each other and now she could properly look at him, she noticed a light eyeliner on his green eyes making them even more noticeable and she smiled. "Are you wearing eyeliner?"

Michael suddenly backed away like he forget he was even wearing it. "Shit, I'm sorry, do you hate it? I just- I just like to wear it every once in a while but I know make up is for girls and-"

"Michael," Ophelia called for him but the boy kept on rambling about how he knew people thought it was wrong. "Mikey!" Michael finally stopped talking and looked at Ophelia dreading her next words. The girl scooted over so she was once again close to him. Her soft hands came to hold his face between them."You look beautiful, and fucking hot." She said and watched as his cheeks turned slightly red. "I don't give a shit about gender roles, you can do or wear whatever the fuck you want to regardless of your gender." While she spoke those words her eyes were still staring right onto Michael's to make sure he understood. Unfortunately, not everyone thought as Ophelia, but in that moment she was all Michael cared about.

"Thank you." Those two words slipped from his pink pretty lips and Ophelia couldn't help but blush when she noticed she had been staring at Michael's lips, friends don't do that.

"Come on, let's start working on that dreadful paper." She whispered and Michael chuckled. Ophelia scooted away a bit when the closeness started clouding her mind with other type of thoughts, thoughts you shouldn't have about a friend. "Honestly, I was scared shitless that your mom and dad would open the door."
