Chapter 26
The week came by so fast and before we knew it, Friday na. The guys are too excited for the weekend dahil nga sa birthday ni Sara.
"My body is ready for all the booze and food tomorrow." sabi ni Tom as he piles the paperworks he has on his table.
"Speaking of that, Violet, did you tell your boyfriend that he's invited too?" tanong ni Sara.
"I haven't told him yet. Maybe later." sabi ko. Tumango siya saka ngumiti.
"Don't forget okay?"
"I won't." tango ko.
"Hey guys, I'll go ahead. I have to pick my sister up from the airport." paalam sa amin ni Keith.
"She's here to visit you?" tanong ni Eugene.
"Yeah."
"Hahaha. Don't be too excited man! Payton might have a boyfriend already." asar ni Colin.
"I was just saying, asshole." ani Eugene.
Tumawa na lang kami at nagkanya-kanya na rin ng alis ang boys. Kami namang mga babae ay naiwan pa saglit. Ashley wants us to have coffee and since Sebastian won't be here until 6, ay sumama na din ako. I need my daily dose of caffeine. Ito lang nagpapahyper sa akin sa buong araw at nakalimutan kong uminom kaninang umaga dahil late akong nagising. Hindi naman ako hinatid ni Basti dahil may commitment na siya kasama si Riley.
We went to the coffee shop 5 minutes later and found ourselves a nice table beside the glass wall of the shop. Sakto lang to para if ever Basti arrives, madali niya kaming makikita.
"I'm so excited for my birthday tomorrow. I mean, not because I'm getting old because that part sucks. But because it's my first time to celebrate it with you guys and with my family as well."
"Why? You don't celebrate your birthday with your family?" tanong ko.
"Her family lives in Texas. It's just this year that they decided to come visit her." si Ashley ang sumagot. Tumango na lang ako saka sumulyap sa labas. "Waiting for him?"
"It's cute how Violet looks out the window every 30 seconds. We haven't been here for like 10 minutes and you already look like you've been sitting here for an hour already." natatawang sabi ni Freddie.
"Sorry. It's just that, he hasn't texted me the whole day. Well, I know he's playing basketball with his brother but it's just that..."
"Hahahaha. Don't worry. Maybe he's already on his way here." ani Sara. "Come on. Let's give our orders now. I've been wanting that fucking cup of espresso since this morning."
We ordered coffee and pastries saka nagkwentuhan. Actually, sina Sara at Ashley lang talaga ang dumadaldal the whole time. They talk nonstop and they joke a lot kaya wala kaming ginawa ni Freddie kundi ang tumawa nang tumawa.
"I mean, you have to agree on this Violet. But Asians do cover their remote controls with plastic!" ani Ashley sabay tingin sa akin. Tumawa naman ako saka tumango.
"What the fuck?! Why?!" tanong ni Sara.
"Ask my grandmother." sabi naman ni Ashley.
"You guys are so weird."
"We are bitch. We are." tango ni Ashley. Tumawa na lang kami ni Freddie sa kanila.
"I guess it's just something about taking care of the gadget. We tend to protect everything we have to make it last." sabi ko.
"So sentimental." ani Freddie.
"Yeah." sang-ayon ko.
"Maybe that's the reason why Westerners are very attracted to Asians. They take care of everything and everyone." ani Sara na tinanguan naman ngayon ni Freddie.
