"Wow, the tree looks great," Elliot said walking back to the living room with another bottle of wine, the first being emptied shortly after dinner she watched as the woman laughed as they put the finishing touches on the Christmas tree and sighed with content as she watched the smiling faces of the three women, more so the smiling face of the blonde. It had been a very long time since she has felt the fulfillment and joy that holidays should bring. So long that she had not realized the tears escaped her eyes.
Patricia having seen Elliot returned smiled as she stood to make her way to the woman who has shown her, in such a short time how genuine and caring someone could be, her life has always been chaotic even around the days that was meant to bring families together in celebration. She has never felt the love and closeness she assumed most would have had while growing up. As she gazed upon the raven-haired woman she found tears falling from those mesmerizingly pools of deep blue. Her hands reached out instinctively as she cupped her face in her hands and wiped the streaks away with the pads of her thumbs.
Elliot's eyes locked onto dark gray eyes filled with worry. "Ne vous inquiétez pas mon amour, ce sont des larmes de joie," Elliot whispered. She placed a hand over Patricia's as leaned into her warm touch and watched as the blonde shed tears of her own, the smile on her face letting Elliot know she understood what she has said.
Clara and Sofia watched the interaction of the two their own worry dissipating once they saw the smiling women. "Ok, I know I just witnessed a cheesy moment, now you're going to have to translate for us English folk," she grinned.
Elliot laughed, "I just told her, 'don't worry love, they are tears of joy'." Elliot looked to the younger women, "It's just been a very long time since I've enjoyed the holidays, I can't thank you enough for spending it with me when you could probably be off enjoying it with the ones you love." Elliot's voice broke.
Patricia's heart ached at the sound of sadness coming from Elliot's voice, she pulled her into her arms and held her. "There is not a single place in the world I would want to be right now, than right here with you." She said before releasing Elliot and turning to the others. "All of you."
"It's a Hallmark moment, "Sofia cooed. As she wrapped her arms around Clara.
Elliot watched the girl, her curiosity getting the better of her. "So, Tell me something," She directed her question to the girl's her own arm finding its way subconsciously around the blonde's waist. "the of two are more than best friends right?". The girls looked at each other, The blush on Clara's face immediately giving Elliot the answer she needed. "That answers that, Wine anyone?" Elliot beamed.

The women having decided during lunch earlier in the day which activity they wanted to do, The women decided it was best to call it an evening in preparation for the two and a half hour drive they would take to the Pacific Harbour zip line course in the morning, they were excited for the guided tour situated on a lush, private eco-reserve, known to have breathtaking views from each platform, looking down on the winding ribbon of the Wainadoi River and the green slopes of the surrounding valley. None of the women having zip lined before were excited and nervous at the same time.
Each woman retired to their rooms, Clara and Sofia sharing the attendants cottage for privacy, Elliot made her way to her room and quickly got to work on her Christmas gift for Patricia, It was a style she created using a multiple layers of various paint, intricately detailing the main scenery with a sub-context hidden within the artwork, a form she has never shared with anyone but her grandmother. She chose a photo from her tablet, one she's taken of the sunset just that morning, she browsed through the photos taken of Patricia as well choosing a shot of her as she stared into the camera, her eyes seeming to be transfixed deeply into her own as she stared at the photo, the captivating smile on her face which Elliot had burnt into her memory. Once the photo was done only those present for the unveiling would know the secrets hidden within the layer of paint.
Her hand gently brushed over the canvas, stroke after stroke, nothing entering her mind except the details of every line. She worked as if entranced, each drop of paint taking it place capturing the picturesque moment down to its minuscule details, eventually, she lost herself in the creation.
Elliot was startled by a knock on her door. Her eyes shot open finding she had fallen asleep, perched on a chair before the completed painting. This was something she found she had done numerous times before and it was times like these that she cursed, forgetting the threat she made to herself, that she would someday video herself while she worked she never understood why she could never remember completing a single painting yet the proof was always stood before her. The knock pulling her back to reality one more she turned the painting so it was out of view, "come in, she answered inviting the knocker in.
"Good morning, " Patricia greeted with a cup of coffee in hand Elliot stood from the chair and stretched, she then reached for the cup and found Patricia seemingly lost in thought as she bit her lower lip.
Patricia watched as the thin piece os fabric crept up as Elliot stretched, showing the smooth abdomen of the finely toned woman before her. She bit her lip to control the urge to run her hands over the faint sighs of muscles displayed before her
"Thanks?" she questioned holding her outstretched arm for a cup snapping Patricia out of her daze, "is everything alright?" Elliot asked with a smirk.
"Oh yes, yes, I'm sorry, Patricia apologized quickly as a blush crept over her face. "It's just, um, you have paint, yeah, um on your clothes, your hands, and even your face." she giggled. Did you fall asleep while you were painting?" She asked trying to draw the attention away from her face knowing it was probably still red.
Elliot smiled sheepishly, "Yeah I tend to do that sometime." she laughed.
"Can I see?" Patricia asked heading towards the painting.
"No!," Elliot quickly shouted startling Patricia stopping her in her tracks.
"I-I'm s-sorry Patricia stuttered, as she quickly turned to leave,
'Trish," Elliot called in a calmer voice, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you.It just, I, It's a surprise?" She asked unsure of how to explain without divulging too much.
Patricia finally relaxing she turned to Elliot and asked: "Is it?" Elliot glad the shorter woman was not longer upset, Smiled and nodded in answer. "Great" Patricia smiled, you should shower if we want to leave on time. Elliot continued to smile as she watched the feminine sway of Patricia's hips as she exited the room her body heating in response. 'I need a cold shower' she whispered to herself and headed to the bathroom.
