William stood stunned, though he said nothing, outrage streamed off of him in waves as he clenched and unclenched his fist. Patricia knew that look all too well, this was far from over.

Richard, however, stood next to the man confused. He looked over to the woman standing next to Patricia and then to his grandmother. "Who the hell is this?" He yelled startling the room, "I'm the only grandchild you have left."

How dare this imposter take advantage of his grandmother. There was only one other grandchild, but she had passed on many years ago. A sweet little girl he had thought the world of. the little girl that called him her superhero for chasing away the bullies. Something he had realized at that moment that he had become.

"Richard, this is Elliot, your cousin," his grandmother confirmed.

How was this possible? He thought then it came to him, his father was the man responsible for the accident. It was most likely the reason the truth of her survival was withheld from him all this time. What did he expect? The reason why his grandmother would never leave the company to him was because of that man.

He couldn't blame her. His actions throughout this whole fiasco of a marriage arrangement he allowed. All because of greed and the chance to marry a woman he was always after.

Following William, who was being escorted by security to the door. Richard hesitated when he reached the women at the other end of the table. Elliot took a defensive stance placing herself in front of Patricia.

"This probably doesn't mean anything to you, but I want to apologize for my role in all of this." Elizabeth was the most surprised at his words. But only time would prove if he meant it.

"I'm happy you're alive little cousin, you have grown into a beautiful woman, and you have a great woman by your side." He acknowledged Elliott and then Patricia before taking his leave.

Patricia breathed a sigh of relief. Her hands still shaky from the confrontation with her father. She was glad that the three women with her, making her feel safe but the man still scared her.

William held his tongue as he walked to the elevator. stepping in and straighten up his suit jacket and stood tall masking hurtful blow to his pride. He would not let them see him waiver. His daughter may have won today but this was not over.

Richard walked towards the other men, his steps faltering at the last moment. The smile William sent him sent chills down his spine, it was the same smile he had the night he had hurt his own wife.

The elevator door slid shut sending a wash of relief over the younger man's face. He was done dealing with this mad man. He needed to distance himself from all of this and head back to Madrid. Back to work, if he still had a position in the company that is.

Pressing the elevator button, he waited, weighing his options and reevaluating his stupid actions over the past few months. He felt the need to make peace with his past. He needed to see his father and find out the reason he betrayed his family, ironically the same way he had realized he had been doing unintentionally.

"Mr. Harrington," Karen had done her research on the multi-million dollar company and recognized the wealthy businessman the minute he walked out of the building. "I'm Karen Leavenworth, I believe we may be able to help each other out."

"And why would you think that?" He scoffed. The woman was beautiful but he'd met women like her all the time. Her cheap, knock off fur coat, all the indication he needed to know she was a gold digger.

"Seems your daughter has something each of us wants." Richard paused in step hearing the woman's voice. He ducked behind a nearby pillar and listened as the conversation unfolded.
