I woke up the next morning to the sound of my bleeping alarm clock, I quickly slapped the off bottom, before drowsily getting out of bed. I grabbed a hair brush off my dresser, and brushed out my greasy blonde locks. Naturally, I would take a shower, but I was feeling lazy. I walked to my closet, and quickly pulled out a pair of ripped skinny jeans, and an over sized sweater. I slipped the clothes on, before racing down the stairs to my kitchen.
I grabbed my backpack, and headed outside to my bus stop. I hated riding the bus. It was filled with sweaty, unattractive teenage boys. I had to ride it, though. There was no way my single mother or I could save up enough money for another car. Let alone cover the cost of driving lessons. I was of age, being sixteen, but I didn't have the funds of driving.
I stood at my bustop, and sat down on the curb. A girl walked up to me with tan skin, and short black hair. Her eyes were light gray, opposed to my dull dark brown ones. She wore a black skater dress, red converse, and a leather jacket.
I had never seen this girl before, but god, was she gorgeous. Too pretty to hang out with me, I thought. But to my dismay, she plopped down beside me on the curb.
"It's Lily Petals, before you ask," she said in a deep voice, not even daring to glance at me.
"Lily Petals?" I asked, with a tilt of my head. That was a strange name, to stay the least. It was fitting though. She was a unique character for this town, since no one really looked like that. A girl in this town wouldn't dare to cut their hair that short. I thought about it once, but my mother quickly shot the thought down.
She scoffed, and looked over at me. "My parents are basically hippies, and I was just blessed to have been born with this name," she said sarcastically, with a roll of her eyes.
I shrugged, "I think it's kind of cool, actually...I'm just kind of stuck with a boring name like Angelina."
Lily looked at me with a smirk, it was a cute one too. It gave her little dimples, and her eyes even seemed to sparkled. "We can trade."
I laughed at this, and stood up. Damn, the bus was here. All I wanted to do was talk to Lily, Lily Petals. What a pretty name? Pretty girl, so it seemed fitting.
We got into the bus together, but she ventured to the back of the bus, whereas I stayed to the front. It was quieter up here, and I could read my book. I opened up my book, and drifted into it as the driver drove us to school.
