The bus halted in front of the high school, or as I liked to call it Hell, and I walked out of the bus. A long line of kids followed behind me, before Lily finally shuffled out. She wasn't talking to anyone in particular, just kind of walking into the school. She walked fast and quickly, and eventually surpassed me. I began to watch her walk away, before Simon wrapped his arms around my shoulders, pulling my attention away from Lily.
"Angelina, hey, you didn't wait for me at the front of the school."
I tilted my head and looked up at him. "Hmm? Oh, sorry. I was distracted," by the girl, that was. Why was I so intrigued by her anyways? It's not like she came off as the friendliest person anyways. Plus, she was bound to be popular in no time, which was something I was not. I sighed, and walked over to my locker, putting in the combination.
I grabbed my books, and looked over to Simon. "Did you see the new girl," I asked curiously. It was a small town , and a small school. Everyone knew everyone, and could easily spot out the outsiders.
He shrugged. "Eh, briefly. I didn't care too much, honestly." I shrugged, and walked into my first period class with him. I looked around the classroom, but my eyes slowly locked onto Lily. She was in the back of the classroom, in the corner desk. I waved to her, but she didn't return the wave.
With a frown, I sat down at a seat towards the front. Simon sat beside me, and started to talk about god knows what, but I wasn't listening. My attention was drawn to Lily, and she was looking back at me.
She chewed her lip, as she gazed back at me. We acknowledged each others stares, but neither dared to say a word.
At the end of class, she grabbed her books and walked over to me as I was sitting down, collecting my things.
"Angelina, right? You're cute" She grabbed my hand, and wrote down a phone number on my wrist in sharpie ink. Then walked away without saying another word.
I sat there in shock, as my face flared up. Did she flirt with me? Oh, no, I must have given off the wrong idea. I had to have, I was straight, and definitely not attracted to this new girl. Right? Plus, if i were to get with anyone, everybody knew it would be with Simon.
Simon's face seemed to have been in a permanent scowl, and he angrily stood up. He looked as though someone had stole something that was his. He didn't say anything to me, just walked away.
I sat in my desk still, very confused, before getting up and scurrying out of the classroom.
