Train Ride Home

<-------------------------------->

Stuck here waiting,
No longer hesitating.
The train clamors along,
Seconds take so long.
How hard is it to try,
To whisper this last goodbye?

I'm shifting back and forth,
No questions to ask anymore.
You knew what was left behind,
But your heart wasn't ever on the line.
I don't know how easy it can be,
To let go of what was once everything.

Nervous irises look along,
The platform still seems so long.
A lone soul awaiting to part this level,
To let go of this mortal vessel.
It's so easy to get lost inside,
Trap yourself deep within a mind.

Emotions can always be on a rise,
When your emotions are a wreck inside.
You can't latch on to people or a place,
You have to let go and find sanity to save.
Things don't ever last as you're moving along,
You'll only end up doing yourself wrong.

Saying that final goodbye as you hear the horn,
You have to let it go or risk being torn.
You're moving forward in your quest,
You couldn't expect anything less.
Take a breath, step inside those sliding doors.
You're on your way to something more.

Don't wait around for the next train out,
You've got nothing left to figure out.
There's nothing easy about saying goodbye,
There's always two drasticallt diverse sides.
Just close your eyes as it rolls away, at last.
It's time to close a chapter of the past.
